I read that as "Eden Hazard's Crystal Palace..." at first and was like WTF

/do you have a flag...?

Can I assume that Eddie prays to Jeff, the God of Biscuits, for his team's victory?

/I also take exception to the assertion that he is "washed up"

Go Palace!  Their time in the Premier League will likely be short and painful, but it's better than never being there at all.

In other news:

Rafa Benitez is going to Napoli, so he'll still be in the Champion's League next season.

Reports are the Roberto Martinez has received permission to talk to Everton

/I hope he doesn't go there.
//I don't want to root against him every week

The first thing he'll see is Cavani going back the other way.  Not getting my hopes up, but if Arsenal actually go ahead and sign him, that'll be a coup.  I realize that either Monaco, Chelsea or Citeh will be the prime players for him.

Everton might just take it to the next level if he goes there.  I seriously think they'd be a candidate for a European spot if he did.

Does Everton have enough depth? Seems like just one or two injuries to their starting eleven farks them hard. Plus I'm not even sure if they'll hold on to Ross Barkely.

Hmmm, it definitely hit Moyes when one or two key players were out for a certain length.  Same thing with Martinez and that was one reason why Wigan were relegated.  I would think Martinez would apply the lessons he learned at Wigan to Everton in terms of getting those £1/2 Million players to keep the squad at a good size but not overdo it.

If Martinez does take over, selling both Fellaini and Baines will hurt.  However, with his acumen in the transfer market, it may help Everton in the long run in terms of squad depth.

I wonder that too (and so do many LFC fans, from what I can tell so far). But it's a free transfer and he's got a ton of experience. I don't think it's a huge risk by any means. And if there's one thing we need (like almost every other EPL club), it's help on the back line.

Replace slow, old, lumbering Carragher with slow, old, lumbering Kolo.

After buying Coutinho off Inter Milan for a bag of balls and now a free transfer for at least a suitable CB, I ain't mad.

Plus, Liverpool tried like hell to buy half the Ajax team, even though we lost out on Alderweireld and probably Eriksen.

Palace has spent 4 previous years in the Premier League....none of them consecutively.  That's weirdly impressive to me.

The soccer team that one celebrity is a fan of beat the soccer team that a different celebrity is a fan of.

Because of the victory, they get to play in the next higher division of the sport next season.

That means they will make a lot more money.

Subby may be referring to "The Riches" not being on TV anymore, or something.

Or merely fears Izzard could easily outman him, even in heels.

/would pay to watch that
