Should post that ad on BackPage.

A year ago in March, I donated that much to Locks of Love.  They make wigs, hair pieces, and hair prosthetics for poor kids with alopecia and other illnesses.  Along with the donation, I sent them a check to cover the cost of processing the hair into wigs.

You'd be right in calling this guy a greedy f**knugget, I've read time and time again about people doing it for the reasons you state. All for good reasons. Most recently a newspaper editor around these parts did this for a year.

A New Yorker is selling his '100 per cent virgin hair' which has never been cut or messed with

My hair would be dragging on the floor if it wasn't cut for 30+ years.

That "Locks of Love" place gets enough hair in the first 2 weeks of January to make all the wigs they distribute for the full year. All the other hair is sold to Chinese wig factories. And donations? Hey, they're sitting on $6,000,000 cash and more money pours in every day. From suckers.

I am confused.  He has a beard and all, so he is a man.  But he is wearing bug-eyed sunglasses normally only found on women with bad fashion sense.  Is it a she-male?

I knew a red head who grew her hair down to her waist to cut it off and sell it for charity. It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen.

This guy? Not so much.

In his 30s, has never been cut or messed with and is only 27 inches? Yeah I'm calling BS on that. I knew people in my teens (that were also teens) that had longer hair than that.

If he never "messes with it," I'd say he could have such terrible split ends that it won't get any longer than that

Meh, depends on the hair. I've got fine, brittle, thin hair that won't get much beyond that, even if not cut for several years.

Nobody would pay for it, though.

Fark locks of love. My oldest daughter donated 15 inches of natural blonde hair years ago. Then I found out what aholes they are. I make sure everyone knows that locks of love is not what they think it is. There are better places to send your hair.

Agreed on locks of love being shady. There's been a lot of questions about that charity for a long time.

That said: Somebody having something valuable and selling it isn't greedy. It's their choice. Do you have a car? Should you donate it when you're done with it? That would be a nice thing to do, but selling it instead isn't greedy. So fark people who see other people's hair as theirs to make decisions about. I've heard of women with long hair being harassed by strangers to donate it to locks of love, and that's total bullshiat. Give what you want to, when you can, to who you want to and stop worrying about what other people are doing.

Oh my god, I work for Penney's and I see these Michael Graves tea pots every day and that never occurred to me! Now every time I have to stock one of those (which isn't often) I'm going to be giggling like a naughty school boy and people are gonna wonder what's so funny.

Dammit! I had the perfect spell worked out for the use and manufacture of a flying carpet, but it admittedly required a female virgin, a white goat and a high cliff facing East when the Moon was in Cancer.  Blast this hair guy!  And here I had just gotten ready to sacrifice a chicken and read the entrails.  Tease.

Actually everyone's hair has a terminal length at which a hair stops growing, falls out, and is replaced by a new one. Some people's hair has a longer life than others. Therefore, some people can grow their hair for 30 years but it'll never get longer than mid-back.

I've heard good things about them. Nationally, Pantene Beautiful Lengths also has a good reputation and works directly with the American Cancer Society.
