If they had their own place this never would have happened.

The article states clearly it fell on the boarders.

I'm currently in Pulaski, NY, visiting my inlaws. This is not mountainous area, but got into the low 40's last night. It should not be in the low goddamn 40's at the end of May.

Unless you're pulling my leg, I think you're thinking of Jersey, not New York.
That or I'm just really confused from lack of sleep.

I looked it up;  Normal low this time of year for Pulaski is 58 and the record low is 30, so 40's is not unheard of.

I'm calling it right now, this is going to be one of the hottest summers ever recorded.  What we're seeing is a double armed pendulum.  The large, slow, primary arm is the general temperature swing between seasons.  The smaller, faster, secondary arm represents the local variations.  What we've gone and done is add way more oil that is good to the secondary's pivot so the friction that would normally stabilize its erratic swings is lost.  It is now free to swing wildly back and forth giving extreme weather variations.  Once the big arm is firmly in summer territory, it won't surprise me at all if much if the country sees 110 and even 120 degree days.

Oh yeah, UpState NY nine months of winter three months of rough sleddin'.
http://www.whiteface.com/

Had a tiny tiny cabin about eight miles (and a hundred years) away from there.
In the winter you can get windburn just walking from the car to the bar, about 150'.
I presume it's about the same in NoDak as far as winter misery.  Just thinner air.

Should've taken the money from the sale of the cabin and bought a hammock in the USVI-

I was camping in Northern NH this weekend.  It snowed on Saturday night.  Dog was confused.  We both got over it.
