The big news of the day is that Phoenix thinks they're popping a magic pill by hiring Horny, but I doubt his contract ever extends.

Love the headline. I recognize that we've got one of the great ones in LeBron, and I love watching him do what he does, but damn am I going hard for the Pacers in this series. I'm jumping on their bandwagon now that the Grizzlies are sadly getting annihilated by the San Antonio Borg.

Can't wait for the LET'S GO LeBRON/KING JAMES SUCKS dueling chant. And if Indy can show some Midwest pride and chant CM PUNK a time or two, that'd be nice.

I_C_Weener: Well, the Heat fan should learn a thing or two about team support from the noise that there will be at Bankers' Life Fieldhouse

Oh, you must mean the same fans that George Hill complained about for their lack of support.
http://nba.si.com/2013/03/16/george-hill-pacers-fans-lakers-indiana- lo s-angeles/

Every team has their casuals and good teams have their bandwagoners. Miami is notorious for non-basketball fans buying up their near quadruple digit priced tickets and making their fans at home look bad on TV. I am not a Heat fan (Raps, lol) but the ones you see on TV are not representative of their fan base.

Anyways, fark Wade. Nothing would make me happier than seeing LeBron go back to Cleveland and team up with Irving and see him rot in Miami. Odds aren`t likely though, especially since Bosh said he didn`t want to play in Cleveland when Bron tried to bring him there before the decision. It`s the company you keep, LeBron.

I just assume every game in this series is gonna be awesome. I hope this is the new EC rivalry, Boston is too old now and Chicago can't stay healthy. NY, well they just have no chance.

It seems to happen a lot. There will be a whole quarter where you forget James is even playing and then all of a sudden he goes off and you wonder why they don't always get him involved.

LeBron doesn't want to be involved every minute he is on the court.  That is why he left the Cavs.

There is something to be said for "do whatever the opposite of what Mike Brown would do on offense" as a coaching strategy.

You would be too if you suck at defense and the one time you actually get a block on someone way bigger than you, you get called for a foul.

2013-05-26 09:25:07 PM
Hibbert got away with one there.

2013-05-26 09:26:41 PM

mitchcumstein1: He makes them better, because he just does what he does, he's a garbage guy, and he ain't going to try to be anything else.

Hey, I was touting their record with him in the lineup well before ESPN figured it out. It's been nice to have someone who can be of some use on offense inside the paint.

/too bad his tattoos and whiteness mean he gets more fouls than he probably deserves
//If Haslem played like this in Miami this series wouldn't have even been a contest

Has anybody informed the Pacers that they're playing at home yet?

2013-05-26 09:27:46 PM

IAmRight: Wade should learn to make shots that DON'T require falling on his back. He'd probably extend his career several years if he could make some of those.

/refs gonna take Birdman out of the game
//West pretending he can't stop someone 40 lbs lighter than him

Fading athleticism, still doesn`t have a reliable jumper, 3 pointer, post-up.

I will farking laugh if they offer this guy anywhere near a max contract when it expires.

2013-05-26 09:27:55 PM

mitchcumstein1: 21 Jump Street was way better than it had any business being, and Magic Mike is a legitimately good movie.

Those two and The Vow all went over $100M, I think.  Dude's talentless if he's doing anything other than playing a meathead in a comedy, but he's red hot right now.

2013-05-26 09:28:09 PM

robsul82: Hibbert got away with one there.

Once you get the rep, you get away with everything. You don't even have to be a star - see Bruce Bowen, who hacked on nearly every possession and got called for maybe one foul per game.

Yeah, he looks like an idiot, but did you see him on the post game show the other night? He's a fairly normal sounding dude. Redneck, but a normal dude.

Bosh better not fall in love with that 3 either.

I hope LeBron goes full Brutus and tells them not to re-sign him if he continues to deteriorate. Get someone younger.

/no, seriously, Haslem, where the f*ck were you in Miami?

2013-05-26 09:30:05 PM
Haslem and Andersen together are 26/26 tonight for 73 points.

I like the guy! I'm just saying he gets whistles that he wouldn't get if he weren't white and tatted.

/I'd just say the tatted part but then I remember the existence of Hansbrough

He's not great but he's good. There are much worse actors out there making much more money. The fact that Nic Cage gets as much work as he does is nothing short of baffling.

And on topic, Pacers are looking sluggish tonight. I hope they have coffee in the locker room at halftime.

You're probably right. Hell, he was brilliant in Raising Arizona, but that might have been the direction of Joel Coen. But too many times he overacts to the point of being distracting. Shiat, Jim Carrey's the biggest ham out there, and even he knows when to dial it back. I don't always get that vibe from Cage.

Certainly deserved the Oscar he won for Leaving Las Vegas, and I think his work in The Weather Man and Lord of War was both excellent.  A nice understated comparison to his batshiat insanity in The Wicker Man, such glorious stuff there, lol.

Exactly what anyone who has ever watched him play was saying. Haslem is usually money from roughly 15 feet. Move him a couple feet out or in? Not so much. But right around there? Juggernuat.

I like to think of it as a question where you say:

a) you didn't get hit by a pitch. Cool, you're not going to have a giant bruise to remember this sh*tty game by!
b) you did get hit by a pitch. Hey, at least you got on base!

robsul82: Random dribbling and jacking up nonsense will not beat the Heat.

Game 2 against the Knicks didn't they have a whole fourth quarter of that getting outscored 30-2

2013-05-26 10:29:29 PM
Well, I suppose as long as he makes 'em every once in a while and they keep playing defense, Chalmers can do that.

/West: "What, grabbing dudes' necks and yanking 'em isn't a foul!"

2013-05-26 10:29:30 PM
Indy also sucks at running an offense, this shoots are goofy.

Yeah, others have tried that strategy, didn't work for them either.

7th straight 1-for-2 for Indy.

2013-05-26 10:31:28 PM
That's not a flop

2013-05-26 10:31:31 PM
God Battier is a douche.

2013-05-26 10:31:33 PM
Can Battier stay on his feet?  Apparently he's gone back to Duke to work with Coach K.

2013-05-26 10:31:39 PM
Battier learned well at Duke, lol.

2013-05-26 10:31:49 PM
Broadcaster to be fined for pointing out flops

2013-05-26 10:31:49 PM
Well, at least Battier is useful at falling down.

/it's not his fault George keeps running into him

2013-05-26 10:32:45 PM
The league has gone way to soft.

2013-05-26 10:32:55 PM

mitchcumstein1: That's not a flop

It's getting really annoying seeing announcers call that a flop but ignore George flopping his head around all the time drawing calls with no contact.

2013-05-26 10:33:31 PM
loll

2013-05-26 10:33:34 PM
Wade doing his best Battier.

2013-05-26 10:33:34 PM
And the dive!

2013-05-26 10:33:38 PM
Wade fail on the dive. Haha.

2013-05-26 10:34:00 PM
Well, Wade, if you're going to "sell it" (there WAS a push), you can still f*cking throw the ball back in JUST IN CASE, you jackass.

2013-05-26 10:34:01 PM
According to the ref pecking order, Wade is no Battier.

2013-05-26 10:34:11 PM
wade belongs on the Azzurri

IAmRight: It's getting really annoying seeing announcers call that a flop but ignore George flopping his head around all the time drawing calls with no contact.

It's Battier's rep and he's earned it, but that particular one was not a flop, dude ran flat ass into him.

Now, Wade's was a flop.

And so was LeBron's.

2013-05-26 10:34:33 PM

robsul82: Wade doing his best Battier.

He's doing himself.

2013-05-26 10:34:38 PM
Do the Rockaway?

Shiat no, do the Battier!

2013-05-26 10:34:40 PM
Stupid charge call...

2013-05-26 10:34:52 PM
Miami Heat have gone full Duke.

2013-05-26 10:35:01 PM
I'd say that LeBron just lost his balance.

/everything doesn't have to be a flop...sometimes guys just lose their balance

Manu vs. Battier in THE ULTIMATE FLOPOFF

2013-05-26 10:39:40 PM
Hansbrough is pretty sure he came here for the volleyball game.

2013-05-26 10:40:12 PM
Sh*t, if Battier is going to start making shots the Pacers have no shot

2013-05-26 10:40:33 PM
WAY more contact on that three than on the one George got three shots for in Game 1.

/Hibbert flop
//actually think he just lost his balance as well

2013-05-26 10:40:38 PM
Hansbrough is so awkward Battier won't even fall down on contact with him.

BATTIER'S FIRST FG OF THE SERIES

Fourth quarter of Game 3.

I love how, now that the Pacers are down big in a game, they start showing Danny Granger on the bench. NOW he's the reason they're losing.

They didn't have him all year. He's not really a part of this year's team. Stop.

2013-05-26 10:44:31 PM
Okay, now we've had NBA movie playoff crossover ads with Fast 6 and the Will Smith movie. What are we going to cross-promote in the Finals?

I wish they'd do a troll-y one with Dwight Howard, since he wants to proclaim himself such.

Andersen should take a three for the lulz. If he makes it, he knows it's impossible for him to miss. If he misses, then it's a silly way to break the streak.

Well, that was off Stephenson, but whatever.

I was actually shocked they didn't call one on Andersen for the contact with (Hill?) the guy who had it before Stephenson. That was more contact than a good 60% of the fouls so far

I started watching the Its Always sunny episode where they buy a boat. I figure if I'm going to watch implied rape, it might as well be entertaining. Down 20 with 4 minutes isn't exactly entertaining or worth watching, even for this Pacers fan.

This is FARK. The dipsticks here make EVERYTHING a divisive argument. On purpose. For the Lulz. Hell there are folks who desperately try to argue what is and is not a sport here just to piss people off. This isnt a normal place with normal people.
