Yeah, me too.  Wish they'd really greenlight the movie.  I'm tired of feeling like I'm getting BSed by Steve Alten.

You know, Cameron deserves some props here. What he did was very cool, and helped out NatGeo, always a laudable effort. He's kinda like Bill Gates in my book: yeah, they both have overseen things that are both popular but deeply flawed, but they've also done some good shiat for the world.

Gates much more so than Cameron, of course.

It's hard to hate a guy who decides to spend his fortune in order to advance human knowledge by building a submersible capable of diving to the deepest parts of the ocean. Even though he earned his fortune by inflicting Titanic and Avatar upon us.

It's not *that* hard.

In fact based on his interviews and what people who have worked with him have said I think it's pretty darned easy.

It doesn't, neither does the ISS for that matter. Some A-type personalities just like to have fun and use "science" as a cover story. Nothing wrong with having fun, just be honest about it.

I'm curious - If it was 43 inches wide before he went down, then how wide was it at 35,000 feet with the immense pressure pushing on it?
