There's nothing ironic about drinking PBR anymore, anyway. The next great hipster drink must return to the roots of irony that define hipsterism. O'Doul's non-alcoholic beer with a whisky chaser (from the rail, of course) would be my suggestion.

Apparently they're serving isopropyl alcohol in New Jersey.  They could try that.

I drink a mass market, nationwide beer but you've probably never heard of it.

A really shiatty over-hopped, over-carbonated light blonde from an locavore indie label.  You've probably never heard of it.

The hipsters should love the irony.  True swill.

I predict Miller High Life.  Not only is it the champagne of beers, but it would give hipsters the chance for the following exchange:

Bartender:  "What are you having?"

Hipster:  "I'd like a Miller High Life, please."

Bartender:  "We don't have that, but we have Miller Light in bottle or draft.  Would you like one of those?"

Hipster:  "No; that's just not the same.  I'll just have a water.  Oh, and could you please tell the owner to start carrying High Life?"

I guess you know you're old when beer you drank as a kid, which became hideously unpopular later, is now popular again. They still suck though; we drank 'em because they were cheap.

It's good to be able to afford a nice IPA now.

Actually I hope they glom on to cans of Iron City. That is truly a nose-bending experience.

As much as I'd hate to see some fez wearing douche drinking my swill of choice, if it helps get it into local bars around here I'm all for it.

In Portlandia, I'm seeing less hipster girls with PBR blue ribbon tattoos, and more hipster girls with Miller High Life "girl in the moon" tattoos.

I guess there was also some butthurt when Bishop's, the local chain of hipster barber shops, switched from giving out free High Life, to free MGD.

I think it's hipster because of that movie

So make another movie where someone's beer suggestion is criticized with a lowbrow substitute and -Voila! New hipster beer.

We would drink a case of 905 every night after work when I worked at the zoo. I think it was less that $10. Quantity, not quality.

We used to take 50 to parties, because nobody would steal it. As mainstream beers go, it's not too bad either.
I remember they made Black Label cool about 15 years ago with massive amounts of advertising. Maybe they can do the same for cinquante.

I'm sick of the word "hipster'. It was referenced a bazillion times in the article, but good luck defining or even getting consensus on who or what is a "hipster". Stupid...

The most ironic thing in that article: a company called "restaurant science" only has pricing data that goes back for a year.

NOOOOOO!!!!

I can buy a 6-pack of tall boys for $5 at my local packie.
$6 for the seasonal brews.
If it gets popular the price will go up and with it the cost of working on my yard.
I'll be damned if I'm doing that shiat sober.
