That should be embarrassing for the catcher and pitcher.

Almost as epic as Rick Suttcliffe stealing second back in the 80's.  All it was missing was a frantic call by Bill Murray.

Papi doesn't really run; he chugs.
As in: "He chugged around the bases."

Harry Caray was out sick and the Cubs had guys come to fill in for him.  Bill Murray was in the booth with Steve Stone and Sutcliffe was pitching a shutout.  Murray and Stone were drinking most of the game.  When Sut got a hit, Murray bet Stone a case of beer that Big Red would steal a base.  The 1B coach heard it and told Sutcliffe, who took off on the next pitch.  He stumbled, got up and kept going.  Somehow he was safe.  Murray's call was absolutely ridiculous.  I swear the catcher gacked the throw because he was laughing too hard at the idea of Sut running.  The next season he stole home.

I credit butterfield. He's also the man behind the double steal with Matt stairs and frank Thomas.

I'm now losing my fantasy baseball matchup for the week because of this, at first I assumed there was some kind of error in the interwebs, because surely that couldn't have possibly happened

Someone stole home on the Tigers when Tram was coach.  The catcher took 3 or 4 steps to the mound and tossed the ball back to the pitcher who was a lefty so his back was turned to third.  The runner went touched home.  The pitcher got in his stance to get the signs from the catcher; I don't think he knew what happened.

There was a funny interview with Ortiz when he was asked about the steal of third, and his first reaction was to ask for a repeat sign because that couldn't be right.

Anyone got a link to the video from a site that doesn't suck?

I fell out of favor with the entire sport of baseball, but I happened on the radio in the ninth so I wanted to see what happened.

I got to my destination and left the car when they were down by one and Drew had just had a single to get on base.

So I guess they won? I was interested in the part I listened to and I started to miss baseball.

The older I get the more I appreciate baseball.  Give it another shot, I say.
