I would be forced to go outside in the great outdoors and meet people.  My social skills would improve.  My lack of sitting around on my butt would cause me to lose weight.  Both of these things would increase my happiness and mental stability.

It would be horrible.

There are tens of thousands of service providers around the planet.

Ya, but there are only about 10 worth worrying about.  If the top 10 tier 1 providers shut down that would pretty much end things.
