Wow. That's like tens of fans who seem to care.

Who cares about the fans, that was an awesome finish. Total steal of a win by the guy who was well back almost the whole final lap, and still looked dead going into 4.

At first I was wondering about the 6:30 length of the video (the last turn of the final lap starts at about 6:00 for those who care) however the build up of the entire race really was needed to see just how great a finish it really was (& an incredible win for Dempsey).

From someone who usually doesn't care about fast cars going in circles for long periods of time, thanks that was well worth the watch.

Is it like indy bands?  Do they have to sell tickets to race?

Hah! No, it's like Formula 1 with passing.

Not even close to trolling. Horrible "sport" is horrible without anything but left turns. Call us when you learn to use a real race track.

How many on track passes are going to occur in Monaco tomorrow?

How do you possess enough brains to functionally use a computer? The majority of Indy Lights races are on road or street courses, not ovals.

Does passing someone that just hit the wall count?

How many of those Indy car racers qualify for F1? Oh? Never mind.

Yes, they seem to have dozens of fans. Fascinating.

Look, I grew up on Rally Cars and F1. I have REALLY been hoping for an American racing league to come close, they just haven't and I've learned to deal with it. American racing is lame. Though, I will say that drag racing is pretty damn awesome after going to a race. I'd probably feel the same if I went to and Indy Car race. It just doesn't do it for me on TV.

Honestly, F1 is great. Rally is great. But there is good racing elsewhere. I think if I really tried, I might be able to give two shiats about Indy Lights on any given day. But, that was an amazing finish to the linked race. Oval racing is different. Just like drag racing is different. Personally, I find drag racing boring as hell to watch on TV. I think soccer is tremendously dumb, but I don't go shiat in soccer threads because I understand that it's something other people enjoy.

Indycar is very heavy on road courses this season. And the racing has been phenomenal. If you like F1 of old, try to catch an Indycar road race this year. NBC sports has great coverage (which is rare to say these days). You may be impressed.

And saying that Indy is not a real race track is just pure trollish and you know it.

I'm going to make some coffee now.

That race is thrown in there for entertainment. All the people are enjoying the hedonism of Carb Day in the infield.

I bet you're a F1 fan.

It was like Formula one with people actually racing their cars, instead of parading around because they're too poosy to drive on the tires they brought.

I don't care what the series is or what your favorite motorsport is.  A great finish is a great finish.  They ran hard, they were clean and avoided contact, and it was anyones race coming to the checkered flag.  The winner played his hand perfectly getting a huge run from the air being cut in front of him with those running three wide and timed his move to the outside perfectly.  I am sure those who were there will remember it.

When I saw them go 3 wide into Turn 3, I had to stop just to ask "WTF ARE YOU DOING!?" No one sane goes 3 wide into a turn at Indy. No one. And they made it stick in 3 and 4. The whole final half lap was nuts. The finish was just final piece of that mindfark.
