I don't normally watch the interviews on The Daily Show, but I did last night and he really didn't sound good. He was trying, it seemed like, but his speech seemed very slow, on the verge of slurred. Not in a drugged sort of way, but in a post-stroke sort of way. It was a little uncomfortable to watch.

i just thought it was funny when the reporter guy wanted to ask advice from freeman about being a good narrator.

the answer: be a good reader.

then michael caine says: it helps if they can hear you.  that's important.

/ never ask old people about acting/performance advice.  they always just say stuff like, make sure you speak loudly and clearly.

Old people have learned all their great wisdom through long years of trial and error, experience comes at a price and that price is sometimes immense. As such they are often reluctant to 'insta-enlighten' some young punk who just happens to want to jump the line on learning something that should take years of blood, sweat and queefs.
I'm pretty sure there's a lot of queefing anyway, sure smells queefy whenever I do anything.

Ha, I had a similar experience reading the comments on a BBCAmerica page, I almost pissed all over my laptop in hilarity.
Why does everyone online act like it's closing time at the bar and someone mean is dragging them kicking and screaming back to the mental asylum?

He could just as easily claim to have received a message from the Prophets.

You should have seen the comment sections of Yahoo News stories circa 2002.  There were some nutcases.  It got so bad they shut the comments function down for a couple of years.

I wish I could say I didn't fall asleep during that interview...but early morning film sets aren't a place of fairy tales.

I noticed it, too.  I wondered if maybe he's just losing the ability to speak clearly extemporaneously.  Give him a script and he's great.  Ask him to wing it and...well, the guy's what, 75?

I hope Morgan Freeman doesn't die before I meet him because I still want to thank him for teaching me to read.

Because of Morgan Freeman, readin' is OUTTA SIGHT.

Sun's gotta set sometime.  Look at Sidney Poitier and Harry Belafonte as well.  Or, for that matter, Clint Eastwood talkin' to that empty chair.

Kirk Douglas sometimes seems better off than his son, Mike, don't he?

/be watching that Liberace movie this weekend

That, and you could tell a young person the secret of the universe, but they won't believe it until they discover it for themself.

Pocket Ninja: I don't normally watch the interviews on The Daily Show

As far as I'm concerned, The Daily Show is a 15-minute show.  It's no different than the "interviews" / "guests" on any other similar show in the late-night format.  Nobody comes on one of these shows unless they have something to sell or they have contractual promotional obligations to a company who does.  If I wanted to watch that, I'd watch the commercials instead.
