It would be kind of funny if in the future it becomes routine to see people who have lost limbs in accidents walking around with little baby arms or legs slowly growing in until they reach normal size. And then you'll have people cosmetically cutting off limbs to regrow them because the new ones look younger.

Do things grow back bigger or the same size?

I was waiting for that.  Pretty soon we'll be overrun with Duncan Idaho gholas.

I have a golden and a grey-with-black-spots one myself, and I have to agree. They walk around on the bottom on their weird little feet, stare at you creepily without blinking (because they can't) and are about a million times cooler than an aquarium full of stupid fish that (I'm sorry) all pretty much look alike to me.

There's your problem. Get a tank full of cichlids. They're much more interesting. I had some Oscars who would slowly rise up out of the water to take food from your hand (well, since they were flakes, they'd take them from your fingers).

I've got a couple of fire belly newts, and the big one sometimes nips the toes off the little one. The little one grows them back, it's pretty neat.

Big deal, regrowing a limb's easy. Can they come back from only a hand?

Okay, I GISed cichlids, and I admit to being ichthyologically uninformed, but they just look like colored fish to me.

Axolotls look like space aliens, and there's a bit of an uncanny valley thing going on. They have creepy little hands and feet, a perpetual joker grin, and dead, staring eyes. That's just more interesting to me than a fish.
