More like it struck 400 miles under the surface of the earth where its energy will dissipate enough by the time it reaches the surface that it will feel like a heavy truck driving by rather than the end of the world.

Given the fact that this is the first time tremors have been felt in Moscow since 1977, I'd say this was a fairly impressive earthquake.

Tremors are extremely rare in Moscow, the last recorded instance was in the 1977.

The 1977 what? Don't leave us hanging, tovarisch.

Surprising....since there have been many strong quakes in the Caucusus Mtns since then...and Moscow did not get tremors from those?

FTFA: the earthquake originated 600 kilometers (375 miles) under the sea bed and with the tremors so far down they have the potential to spread quite far.

Maybe the quakes you're referencing weren't as deep so tremors didn't travel as far?

no no no....It's Obama's earthquake machine. He used his Time Machine to go back and use it during the Bush administration. Get your facts straight before posting next time.

It's Al Gore's earthquake machine and they owe him royalties for using it.

Frankly I'm more concerned about the earthquake swarm I've been watching in Northern California for the past six hours--it's pretty scary....

Well actually Teddy Roosevelt was the first POTUS to get to use it back in 1906. Tesla invented it for him, get your facts strait.

Teddy Roosevelt didn't need an Earthquake machine. He could just stare at a faultline and it would tremble in fear.

True. But Al Gore used the money he made from inventing the internet to buy it.

No, that cocksucker Thomas Edison stole the plans for it from Tesla and made a knock-off copy that he sold to Gore!

If she can't sleep, she needs to drop across the border to the Yucatan Yukon for some socialist sleeping pills.
