You could get to work on mandating more public storm shelters, but nah, that would be dumb, right?

2013-05-23 01:49:12 PM
God needs more babies to kill with Tornados. Makes sense.

Without Planned Parenthood there will probably be fewer babies. Planned Parenthood provides neonatal services as well as low cost vaccinations.

State Rep. Doug Cox (R), a family physician, said he will vote against the legislation when the House takes it up on Thursday. "To defund a program like Planned Parenthood would be a mistake," he told The Huffington Post in a phone interview. "They perform a valuable service as far as breast cancer screenings, cervical cancer screenings, parenting classes, many things that benefit our state that we're sorely in need of."

A sensible person with an R after their name? How did he sneak into Oklahoma?

I don't know, but Zeb Coulter will not be pleased with this interloper in Jack Swagger's AmericaTM

When are we going to stop joking about these guys being crazy and acknowledge that they really, truly are mentally ill.

We should no let them be in positions where they make decisions for the rest of us.

Red states....

Huh. An article about Planned Parenthood includes the names "Cox" and "Dickey"

2013-05-23 03:37:06 PM
This is why God smited them with that Tornado. Haven't they figured that out yet??

2013-05-23 03:37:49 PM
this is good policy. since there's no gay marriage in OK, then the tornados must have been cause by planned parenthood. So this bill is really about tornado prevention.

Planned Parenthood operates five clinics in Oklahoma and serves about 8,400 men and women there a year

Planned Parenthood is performing abortions on men? Wow.

I'm sure god will be so happy, they'll never have another tornado in Oklahoma again.

Yes. It's common knowledge that PP is so enamored with abortions they often perform them when it's unnecessary.

Wait, it gets better....

Gov. Mary Fallin and the Oklahoma state Legislature recently refused federal funds to expand Medicaid in Oklahoma

They don't want no help from no colored run gubment, no siree bob.

I assume his wife threatened to kick his ass if he came out in support of this.

No corrections to the political comments here. The OK legislature is mentally ill. Save a few I know personally who are very sane and, not surprisingly, Democrats. But a correction to the headline: somewhere around 7 towns were flattened. But only one of them was appreciably well populated.

OK already leads in teen pregnancy. They just want to remain tops in some national statistic. Besides incarceration of females. And some other shiatty stuff.

It's as pervasive as it is insidious. When was the last time you heard of a pregnant man being allowed to give birth? It's pretty rare, I tell you that, and it's because Planned Parenthood is performing manbortions. It's a librul plot, and has been for years.

Apparently, if you want an abortion in OK, all you have to do is point your vagina towards the sky and wait.

I snorted. Then I imagined hundreds of fetuses (fetii?) flying through the air, dragged along by their placentas as some kind of strange kite-surfing tool.

Once you account for all the people we'll have to incarcerate in a couple decades and all the women we'll have to treat and discharge over and over again at the ER for complications from advanced cancers, I'm gonna go with Negative Sh*tloads. That's a technical term.

Conservatives are not. The national GOP, on the other hand, is.

I consider myself fairly conservative (in the "I don't give two farks what you do with your personal life, as long as it isn't harming others, especially children" vein), and I don't consider myself an enemy of all mankind.

2013-05-23 05:05:44 PM
Well I'm sure everyone sending money to that state feels really good about that decision now. It just seems really rude. OK had a major disaster and people do want to help, but it doesn't really seem that big of deal to them, so why should it be a big deal for me?

Apparently the tornadoe wasn't even worth putting a hold on the partisan bs for a couple of days.

So does that mean that all women in Mississippi must go to Planned Parenthood for the neo-natal services to prevent a miscarriage? And if they don't, will the mother be an accessory to murder?

Good for you. Unfortunately, with that attitude, no other conservatives consider you conservative.

You may wish to re-examine your self-identification.

I heard one of the worst things I'd heard in awhile on NPR this morning. I actually wanted to track down the quote so I didn't mis-sstate it.

"Amid the Pavlovian media gushing about how the town of Moore has rallied round has also come some implied criticism about the fact that the elementary schools that took direct hits had no storm shelters. Seven third-graders died huddling in their classroom, asphyxiated by falling debris. When asked about that, the city manager says this.

EDDY: Lives, you can't count the cost or the value of lives, but you can count the cost of construction. It adds a significant amount of cost to construction. The taxpayers would have to determine whether they're going to pay that or not."

Err, that is basically the definition of liberal, not conservative.

Conservative means you prefer to keep the status quo as much as possible, and for any changes to be small and implemented slowly - they would emphasize stability and continuity with the past. A reactionary conservative would try to change things back to how they were like at a certain "better" time in the past.
