Since Hot Topic is selling it, does it mean this brony shiat will stop now that it's not "cool" anymore?

Hot topic has been selling Brony things for months. I believe it started when they noticed that songs featured in Pony Music Videos showed a sharp spike in sales.

On the one hand, yuck for sexualizing a franchise that has up until now been remarkably family-friendly and woman-positive.

On the other hand, I have a little cousin turning eighteen this week who dearly loves all things Rainbow Dash. All the things. Seriously, she made a bigger fuss over the rainbow-bolt 'cutie marks' I stenciled onto the quarter panels of the light blue '92 Camry that my husband and I helped her fix up than over the fact that we lent her the last $200 needed and helped her fix up her very first vehicle last year. (And she's precocious, too, swapped out a head gasket like a pro and programs in C++ like a grownup.)

So if I just give her a Hot Topic giftcard adequate to cover the price of this appalling item of lingerie/bathing suit/fetish gear and shipping, it will have the triple advantage of getting her something she'll really enjoy, something her girlfriend, also eighteen, will really enjoy (those mischievous scamps love to dress up as Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy on an alarmingly regular basis, knowing it both confuses the boners of every boy in their school and innocently delights the little troop of Girl Scouts they volunteer with,) and, best of all, something that will probably piss my homophobic, racist ex-aunt off enough that Little Cousin can maybe get to spend her last summer before college with her much more understanding Dad, as has been hoped.

Which would then mean that she'll be close enough that I can hire her and Fluttershy as cat sitters for vacation, knowing that they'll be too busy cooing over the kitties and getting up to miscellaneous smutty things to throw a party or trash the place. (Filthy-minded teenagers do make the best cat sitters. Not only do you come home to freshly-changed sheets on every bed in the house, but every cat has been brushed every day and they never once forget Mittens' meds.) They cost $10 a day less than my regular cat sitter, eat markedly cheaper food (chips, dip, ice cream, frozen pizzas, etc.,) and are much better about making sure Spot gets his twice-daily cat cardio. (He is trying to lose four pounds.) I can even monitor their Facebooks and view Spot's twice-daily cat cardio, given that they tend to film him playing laser-pointer-chase with their iPhones.

So at least one horrible human being (me,) stands to benefit from this awful product's existence.

People who watch ponies are losers, plain and simple.  "But wait, Cytokine Storm," you say, all whiny in your whining whiny loser voice, "In season 1 episode 8 we learn that people can get along despite their differing interests."  NO.  JUST NO.  The real world doesn't work like that and you all need to GROW THE FARK UP.  The lesson of that show was about how to learn to work together with people and their minor idiosyncracies, not tolerate weird and deviant behavior like watching little girls shows, which I'd never do.

Take a cue from your own perverted pantless pony prancing parties.  In S1E18 they're pretty much hitting you over the head with the message that you can't focus on the things not FOR you.  When the Cutie Mark Crusaders put on their big show it was a DISASTER, just like YOUR LIVES, because they're trying to do something not suited for them.  I don't care if they are having fun, life isn't about fun, it's about success of failure, and they failed.  Like you.  For watching ponies.  Which I don't, not a single episode, not ever.  No way.  I hate em.

The existence of the movie has the fanbase going full Derpy, (since when has has the fanbase not been going full Derpy?), which may be little short-sighted considering the possible second-order effects in the cosplay community.

Smart.

I find the older I get, the more I hate people. Almost the only time I can motivate myself to deal with people IRL is when I'm getting paid to do it.

As a previous maker of anime AMV's, that video sucked. "Oh look I just plastered a song onto footage of a show I liked. I told no story and/or the things on the screen didn't fit the song at all".
