Don't they say this every time there is a solar flare?

There's been a lot of client discussion lately.  One of the arguments against man-made global warming I heard quite a while ago was that it's all part of the solar cycle and that all the other planets were warming up as well and at near the same rate as Earth.  Has that been discredited?

Certainly a flair for content-absent "news".

Lemme try: "Rocks from space could find you unprepared if they hit your house and you are home."

FTFA:  Particles from a powerful coronal mass ejection overloaded telegraph wires, setting paper messages on fire in 1859.

Pfft. Sounds like the sun doesn't know telegraphs work.

So if we run everything on solar power, should be a non issue, right?

//Having a gas powered generator waiting in the garage may not be a bad idea.
///But have several days of gas ready "before the storm"

It's time for this story again already?  Jeez, you'd think we never had a solar maximum before.  Or maybe the derp patrol is worried that global warming will make the solar activity worse.

/OMG CME WTF

Yeah, I mean, "solar cycle" sounds like something you ride.

I think I remember a "What would happen" type documentary that talked about this.

Of course it didnt show everything devolving into mad max with less leather and sand, so by default it was a 0/10

I wouldn't worry about it unless all the whales in the ocean swarm into San Francisco bay and try to communicate with us.

Isn't the "carrier lost" joke a bit passe now?  Who still uses dialup?

I am sure people do (apparently around 6% of users here in the US) but, still.  Probably time to retire that joke.

Start now. That way when the panicking starts you can say you were panicking before it was cool.
