Is Vogel on the take?  No Hibbert on both of those key layups?  Horrible coaching.  George played 47 minutes and looked gassed.

Battier's flops during this game were just farking pathetic.

robsul82: robsul82: TheManofPA: robsul82: It's only the end of the game, I can see why Vogel didn't want to risk Hibbert fouling out.

He might have been unavailable for OT had he fouled James and LBJ only hit 1 of 2.

Deal with that if it happens, faaaaaaaaaark.

I mean, shiat, he even had the advantage of having seen it happen ONCE, lol...gotta risk it, man.

I love Vogel and I'm not even sure how one could begin to think about beginning to take enough drugs to defend those substitutions.

If God had put Hansbrough in for Hibbert, I'd be looking into converting right now.

/sigh

Vogel at press conference: "If Roy was in the game, then Bosh is probably first or second option. Maybe Bosh takes a jumper, makes it, and we're talking about that"

Ok, look, nobody gives a blue bloody f*ck if Bosh takes a jumper to win the game. The best goddamn basketball player on the planet is an absolute monster when driving to the rim. You have a guaranteed stopper that has worked hard all game. Use him.

^^^THIS^^^

I'd take Bosh shooting a jumper over LeBron with the ball in his hands doing ANYTHING, to be honest.

Frank Vogel broke my sarcasm meter, my brain...fark.  "Because I'm afraid of a Bosh jumper I'm gonna let LeBron have a red carpet to the basket twice" will shatter anyone's meter into a million pieces, lol.

So vogel would rather have Lebron have an open layup like he was in practice (practice?) than Bosh having to shoot it?  Yeah, makes sense to me!

Vogel, you SUCK.

Coffee is for closers, Lebron.

So here's your coffee.

Pacers got double the usual turnovers from Miami, most of which were unforced. Miami shot a horrible percentage from three. The refs called more fouls against Miami AND took out their stars for large portions of the game. George got a REALLY bogus call to get him three foul shots...and they STILL lost.

Heat in 4.

/also, for all the sh*t Vogel's getting for not having Hibbert in there...how about Spo running Battier out there over and over for "offensive" purposes while Birdman was on the bench?
//7-7, 2-2, and 3 blocks...instead you get a guy who couldn't hit the ocean if he fell out of a boat tonight and gets constantly steamrolled by West

And I'm kinda tired of watching David West shoot like 80%, even on bad mid-range shots or well-defended hooks. At least it all worked out in the end.

Nah, replays show that George was falling sideways already and Wade MAYBE grazed his arm - if they'd been calling that throughout the game, fine. But apparently two swipes at James on that previous layup and a hit on the head wasn't worth calling a foul on; why should George get that bailout call?

Yes a team that went 0-2 at an opponents home will definitely sweep both games in the playoffs...

*rolls eyes*

Because Indiana needed the refs to fix the two games they won against Miami during the regular season...

If only Indiana could get one player on their team to shoot as many free throws as the other team in order to win the championship. That'd be quite the accomplishment.

Of course Indiana can't do that - they get it spread around. Again, like Game 6. Where EVERY SINGLE STARTER shot more FTs than all the Knicks' starters not named Melo COMBINED.

/I'm just dishing this sh*t out because b*tches want to complain about refs every time Miami wins. It's about time we acknowledge when other teams get a huge amount of help from the refs

I'm not giving Miami and any shiat -- that was a reference to Wade in 2005 btw -- for the game yesterday. Pacers should have had Hibbert on the floor and let Bosh take the last shot (or James jumper).  I expect Miami to win the series. They're better than the Pacers. However expecting them to sweep is ridiculous.

This is the second time you've gone out of your way to complain the refs hate Miami while you complain that other people complain the refs are helping them. redmid17: I'm not giving Miami and any shiat -- that was a reference to Wade in 2005 btw -- for the game yesterday

Oh, I know it was. I'm only rooting for the Heat because I enjoy watching LeBron play and watching him make all the Skip Baylesses of the world STFU (or change their opinions and pretend they were the reason for his success). I don't particularly like Wade or how his sloppy ball-handling almost cost them that game. I also have to turn away from when they show the Miami crowd to prevent myself from instinctively rooting against those people's happiness.

I root for players and the sport, not for a particular team. I appreciate both teams' letting players make plays, even when intentionally fouling people would've been the "smart" play. I like that the Pacers aren't nearly as obnoxious about cheap shots as the Bulls.

Hell, aside from when Hansbrough is on the floor, I like the Pacers.

I just feel that if people in these threads (not necessarily you) are going to constantly make references to the Heat winning because the refs will make sure of it, that we should point out when EVERY team gets a huge advantage. Thus far in the playoffs, Miami hasn't had much of an advantage from the refs in any game, statistically. Their opponents are shooting about the same number of FTs; they're getting called for roughly the same number of fouls. (Maybe not in the Milwaukee series, but I'm only considering games against teams that have a legitimate chance of a real series).

And of course I'm overreacting - Heat probably only get 1 in Indiana and win it in 5. The point I'm making is that the Pacers had a TON of things go their way in this game and they still lost. You think that the Heat are going to continue to not make threes or FTs, that the Pacers are going to shoot more FTs in every game, that Allen is going to miss a critical FT, that George is going to make more off-balance 30-footers? That the Heat are going to turn it over another 20 times, most of which were unforced?

The only thing the Heat really had going for them that they can't expect to have happen again is Andersen's performance. But really, Andersen didn't do anything so spectacular offensively - he just knows to cut behind his man so he can get free dunks when Hibbert rotates to try to stop LeBron. I don't think he made a shot from more than six inches from the rim.

/was honestly hoping Battier would foul out so Spoelstra would HAVE to put Andersen back in

I will say it was refreshing for LeBron James to have a foul called on him, let alone 5.  Didn't he go like 5 games without a single foul called on him this season?  That's pretty impressive...even if he rode the bench for 4 of those games.  So, 5 games without a single foul.  The man must be the best defender the NBA has ever seen.

I dont hate the Heat but I understand why people do.

The Decision, the pep rally, making fun of Dirk being sick, whining after every call/non-call, Dwayne Wade, LeBron's press conference after losing to the Mavs.

I like the way they go about business now but there was a lot to dislike in the beginning.

GardenWeasel: Wade has a great eye for what the refs can and can't see.

See, the whining after every call/non-call...EVERY PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE does this. They just don't get the camera on them after the whistle as often.

The Decision...meh. It was going to be a press conference. No problem with keeping it from being a thousand media people whining about how you owed it to Cleveland. Let 'em whine in print and on TV the next day behind your back like they did.

Pep rally? Well, you've seen the fans in Miami. They probably didn't even know LeBron and Bosh signed there until that.

/hell, I'm even fine with the comments after the Mavs' loss - it wasn't RIGHT to say, but it was true, and I always enjoy when athletes speak the truth instead of in cliches.
//doing the coughing thing to mock Dirk was lame, though
///I'm gonna put that one on Wade, though. Looked like Bron was the outsider trying to fit in on that video
////if LeBron is going to win 6+ titles, it's not gonna be with Wade as the No. 2 option, though
///which is good; it'd piss me off if Wade had more titles than he did
