I'm at a hot spring hotel in the western end of Japan right now and the hotel prohibits those with tattoos, permanent or temporary, from entering the baths.

So you'd be at risk of getting kicked out of a hot spring in Japan as well.

And every time someone has a bad reaction to the PPD's in black hair dye we are reminded that they are in "black henna" tattoos.

At least the people getting temporary tattoos aren't wasting their lives with permanent ink.

Pete and repeat were in a boat...

I have a PPD allergy.  I discovered it after dying my hair without a reaction for years.  It is a crappy allergy because while it is easy to avoid hair dye, it sensitizes you to other things too.  I spent three days in the hospital a few years back because I reacted to a pair of gloves I had bought.

I once saw a guy at a show wearing those fabric fake tattoo sleeves, completely un-ironically. That was just how he rolled.

I was taking my cat to be declawed via airplane because the Vet I prefer is in Chicago (he doesn't require vaccines) and I was wearing my travel suit because I'm not an animal and yet I had to sit next to some hipster in flip-flops.  He was covered in tattoos, distasteful.  He kept trying to engage me about his pitbull, but I truly believe that those monsters should be euthanized on sight.  I told him that and he flew into a rage.  He was ranting about Bush and Ayn Rand or something so I told him that as a libertarian I think it should be up to the states which dogs get euthanized.  He absolutely looses his mind and drops his vintage jeans and everyone sees his uncircumcised penis.  Once the Heros at the TSA took him in I turned to my other neighbor and we both agreed that uncircumcised people are basically savages.

You must reside in some special corner of reality. Also, its loses.

Nope. While it is traditionally used by women when getting married in India and most of the Middle East (and into Africa, actually), men will get henna done as well for weddings and events, just not as much.

Besides, men wear skirts in Scotland, but not in the US *shrug*. Different countries, different cultures. We don't have the cultural gender restrictions they do. I have a few tattoos, but I dig the "art work there / art work gone / repeat" aspect.

Besides, my GF is the one who does the henna. Any reason to just lay back and let her have her way with me, I'm all for.

When i was a kid my parents didn't let me get temp tattoos cause they said "it might have LSD in it!" And to this very day The only thing that makes me hallucinate is real LSD not some temporary BS.

A couple years ago I worked at a government air quality department. We had a booth at the state fair and gave out temporary tattoos (the kind you apply with a sponge). The biggest takers were young (~20) guys. They planned to cover the first person to pass out at the next party with them.

/my suggesting it may have had something to do with the plan

Sometimes Mrs. Cymbal and I like to do some role play to spice things up so I've been known to apply temporary tramp stamps to her.

You haters just keep on hatin' though.

Celebrity tattoo artist Paul Booth said in a Rolling Stone interview " ... allowed his client's demons to guide his needle." But in the definitive history of tattoos,  tattoos are described as marks of identification to a world beyond this one, says Ronald Scutt in Skin Deep, The Mystery Of Tattooing.

So, you got that going for you ...

Temporary tattoos give me the irresistible urge to recruit soldiers in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar.
