Noticeably F.A.T.: Why the hell is an off duty (heh, duty) cop cruising around with spike strips?

My town, the station is short on parking, so cops sometimes drive a cruiser home after a shift, so, they could've been in the trunk?

/didn't read the article that closely

Came here to say this. Maybe he drives an unmarked car and takes it home with him? Otherwise, now his need to always be prepared for everything has been confirmed in the biggest way possible. Any time anyone (or that voice in his head) says "do you really need that?" his response is going to be "fark yeah! This'll make me a hero someday again"!

Why not? I really don't know what I'm talking about, but it seems plausible to me that cops don't remove every piece of cop equipment from their cars at the end of a shift. He could have been heading home after a shift and just been in the right place at the right time.

True, some do. You're right, probably more likely than the unmarked car going home.

Lots of small towns have "on call" cops.  Saves them time when the cruiser is already at home then getting into your private vehicle, then driving to the police station to get your cruiser, then going to the scene of the crime.

FTFA:  Prilla Coslett(above, left)is charged with aggravated flight from an officer, resisting by flight, theft of goods under $500, and obstruction of justice.  Clint Coslett(above, right)fases the same charges, as well as possession of marijuana and aggravated assault on a police officer by use of a vehicle.

Why do she not get the same drug charges? She wasn't driving, so you can make a case of her not getting aggravated assault, but she should get the same damn charges for everything else.

Depends on the size of the department, and the rank of the officer. Personal use, no. But they are, in many places, allowed to drive the car home.

The printer is getting pretty old so I figured it would give them a try and if they farked up the printer I'd just buy a new one. Amazingly, they actually work great. Yeah but many new printers now come with "starter" ink cartridges that hold just enough to print out the test page and a little more. They caught on.

/Estimates vary, but a quick google search shows that printer ink can be at least $8000/gal.

I blame Big Ink and their exhaustive price fixing strategies. Why did God put all the ink under Saudi Arabia?

This consumer monochrome laser printer is about $100, and the cartridge lasts a looooong time.  Cheaper to print photos at the drug store, too.

Agnes Gonxha's Confidant: For those of you still wondering why they stole a printer:

Inkjet and Laser printer have  compounds known as nitropyrenes and trinitrofluorene and although they are rarely used these days, they have hallucinogenic properties

This is a huge problem in middle-upper class teenagers in Mexico. To buy toner in Mexico you have to show your IFE card (voting registration card with picture)

Ask any mexican acquaintance and they will probably get emotional as they are very likely to have a family member affected by toner addiction

Is that why their hair is black?

Employees must pay a $50 monthly surcharge to take home city vehicles if they live in Slidell. Employees living outside the city limits must pay $100 each month.

that article is about the city council perhaps revising the policy. i'd pay $50 or $100 bucks in lieu of a car payment and insurance. actually i had a company car once and it's a nice perk.
