Carn: Oh no, a bad word censored on a shirt and hat!  The horror!  I'm sure that mall doesn't sell cds with explicit lyrics or movies with violence and profanity in them either!  Zero Tolerance!

Not sure if trolling, or just ignorant:

There's a difference between the customers having see it in their faces, and someone going into a store, searching for something with explicit lyrics and buying it of their own volition.

serial_crusher: jaybeezey: insano: serial_crusher: Yeah, that happens sometimes.  I remember the time my Child Porn For Peace poster got me arrested even despite the fact that I'd just lost a relative in Iraq a few weeks before.  Man, what an injustice.

A shirt expressing someone's hate of cancer is now equivalent to supporting child porn. Interesting.

Not supporting Child Porn, supporting Peace. You gotta read the whole mfkr!

I guess their hats could be construed as support for "Fu𐑙k"

Who doesn't support that?

Sad what happened to their mother. And it looks like the mall was correct in kicking them out.

Any of you guys ever been in King of Prussia Mall?  There aren't enough sticks in there for all those asses that need them.

kinda what i was expecting..lol

Fark fark fark fark farkity fark fark fark fark.

Wow. I feel so empowered now, like I could go out and save the world. Because you know, saying "fark" is the only thing powerful enough to defeat cancer.

...

I swear, some people are enough to make baby Darwin cry.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet. But the F-Cancer is actually a charity group. Their goal is to raise awareness for cancer in it's early stages, since that's when they're most likely to be cured.

I saw a "fark you, you farking farks" shirt on a girl at a Walmart in Tyler, TX. On a Sunday afternoon. She might have been hot but I was a little distracted by the sheer absurdity.

Your argument might carry a little more weight if they were blaring the explicit music over the mall speakers or have TVs everywhere showing the explicit profanity/violence.

I've never been to a mall that does that.

Alright.  Life-size ads of Victoria Secret women and/or the ladies wearing the sexy stuff in the store (god bless em!).

The point being, our society is awash in sex, violence, and profanity.  You can't censor whatever you particularly feel is offensive.  I'm offended by Justin Bieber and muzak, but I hear those in the mall all the time.  Help help I'm being oppressed.

Private property. The end.

Really, first one in to make fun of their Afrikan names? I guess I need to mature.  Plus the one sister could use a shave.

bigstoopidbruce: Private property... move along.

And we're done here.

FWIW: it's not the first time it's happened at the KoP Mall.  They're pretty big on limiting the nonsense to a minimum.

/couple of years ago, there was a story about the mall making some of the stores remove products with vulgarities on them... didn't seem to be quite the tempest in a teapot that this one is turning into

Most malls have a sign up at the door saying they can eject you for (we don't like the look of you) inappropriate clothing, "gang attire" being young and in a large group, etc. Really is not news. Dead mom is a red herring.

What I gather was that the mall security guy was a prick though.

Is it cause they're black?

A censored vulgarity is a vulgarity?  People think it's just fine to say f- that.  People say gosh darn as if it doesn't really mean God Dammit.

People are stupid.

King of Prussia is a huge mall (some say the first and oldest). It's main draw is tax free clothes shopping, for all those NJ and NY shoppers at the foot of the turnpike, that and the mudslides that cover the bottom floor and roads when it rains.

There aren't as many deaths in the parking area as the nearby Delaware malls, which have no sales on anything.
KOP mall doesn't really have any record of cancer support leading one to speculate that they may be more on the cancer creation side.

2013-05-22 01:45:29 PM
King of Prussia mall says it all. Avoid that place like the plague.

Carn: Alright. Life-size ads of Victoria Secret women and/or the ladies wearing the sexy stuff in the store (god bless em!).

Yes, and there's just as many male advertisements like that in front of Abercrombie and Hollister. Hell I was watching a show on History (that actually had history!) that talked about the very first Calvin Klein male model ad for underwear. That was 50 feet tall in Times Square. A 10 foot package just staring at everyone walking down the street.

As long as there's clothes covering the naughty parts you won't run into trouble.

Except a private business does have the right to censor whatever they feel is offensive.

In what universe does this make sense?

Had I been the mall cop, I'd have waited for a couple of complaints before acting on this.

Then I would have pepper sprayed the lot of 'em.

That's fine.  It's still stupid.  If a covered weiner isn't a weiner than a f*ck isn't the real thing either.  I think this can all be summed up with "If it offends you, you could trying minding your own f*cking business."

2013-05-22 01:50:52 PM
Well, it's just a shame that they have neither the intelligence or the class to express themselves in anything but such an uncouth, crude manner.  Then again, maybe fuak was their Mom's favorite word so it was perhaps a tribute of sorts.

2013-05-22 01:51:27 PM
King Of Prussia Mall or King O.P.M. (King Opium) is a folk version of Pablo Escobar, except is the large black male on the right in the picture.  No diggity.

no, but there is a Lovesac store.

Pfft, there are no black people on Fark.

There's one that reliably comes into any sort of race-related thread and foams at the mouth about "white people." Judging by the number of people who respond, it would seem that a lot of Farkers have them blocked.

2013-05-22 02:06:44 PM

bigstoopidbruce: Also, I love that, in memory of their dear mother, they're wearing a hat with a rude word on it.  That's real... stupid.  Will they wear those to the funeral?  Why not?  Oh, they want the funeral to be quiet dignified?  Just like the mall used to be?

You had my attention right up to the point where you claimed that malls ever used to be "dignified".

2013-05-22 02:08:50 PM
I think this would make a hilarious "Family Circus" cartoon where the mother dies and the kids have those funny footprints running all over the mall.

2013-05-22 02:09:25 PM

Walker: Oh, and this mall cop should lose his job for the way he spoke to them:

Security approached and asked them to take the hats off or leave.

"I said, 'I'm not leaving. I spend money here and I'm not going to leave,'" said Zakia.

"He said, 'You know what? Shut your mouth. That was your cue to stop shopping.'

Cue the protestors with duct taped mouths.

Huh.... Who'd'a thunk it? The old, "My mom/dad/son/daughter/brother/sister/friend/uncle/neighbor/goldfish just died, so I have the right to be a dick" excuse doesn't work any more.

I've long since come to the conclusion that people who have a problem with so-called curse words never outgrew their childhood, are thus immature, and shouldn't be trusted with any sort of appreciable responsibility.

It's sweet that you find the civilized majority of people, including those who run and govern entities far larger and more complex than you could in your wildest ambitions, to be "immature" and therefore beneath you. Whatever helps you make it through each day, I guess.

Can anyone explain why is F*ck is a bad word or "profane" without envoking inane religous notions that human sexuality is a sin?  And if not why do your religious hang ups have authority over my language.

2013-05-22 02:33:59 PM
I saw a lot of this on Facebook after the Marathon bombings. "Don't fark with us, we're Boston" or "Boston farking Strong". Listen, here's the thing: you seem like immature trash when you use the word "fark" obsessively. When you display it on a t-shirt or hat you seem like even more of an idiot.

COMPLETE STATEMENT FROM KING OF PRUSSIA MALL
"King of Prussia Mall would first like to express its condolences to the young women regarding the loss of their mother. King of Prussia Mall is a proud supporter of breast cancer awareness and other important causes however, the mall is first and foremost a family destination. Certain words and images, whether obvious or suggested, spoken or written on clothing, are considered profane and can offend many people. In keeping with the mall's Code of Conduct, security approached the women who were first asked respectfully to remove their caps and when they refused, were asked to leave. King of Prussia Mall is dedicated to providing a family-friendly atmosphere for all our shoppers and such profanity is not tolerated."
-Robert Hart, Mall Manager

Oh Please. The word looks like FUAK. Also stores in the mall have items for sale with uncensored words all over them but that's no problem for the mall manager. Pay a visit to the Spencer's and the Urban Outfitters stores in that mall. Why hasn't he asked them to leave? Oh right, because he makes money from them. Fark road trip. Let's have 500 people all show up in these hats and shirts and watch the hilarity commence.

So when, for example, every bizarre sexual orientation in the world can be "offended" by whatever, (ex: gays and the words "husband" and "wife") when normal people get offended it's just that they are being whining douchebags? Right, got it.

Some animals are more equal than others.
