I know they play an important factor in GABA. I found out the hard way after being poisoned by a false morel (type of wild mushroom) and was hospitalized. One of the treatments was vitamin B6 to minamize neuron damage.

Friend of mine had the same problem. Attack doses of B complex, as well as nitrous oxide therapy. B6 for the same reason as you, and B12 to combat the depletion caused by the gas.

Same regimen is often prescribed for patients during acute alcohol withdrawal, to protect neurons during GABA upregulation.
