I support roadside drumming, but if it was me, I'd set up about 100 feet past my car instead of right behind it to make it less likely i'd get splattered between two cars.

In 97 I was on my way back from the Virginia Renaissance Faire with some friends when I busted the timing belt on my Acura on I-95 North just outside of Quantico. AAA said "2 hours or so" and my friends decided to hang out with me. Well, boys will be boys, and we were bored, and it didn't take long for roadside boredom to turn into "roadside stage fight direction training and entertainment with swords"

Didn't take too long before one of Virginia's finest showed up and (I swear this is true) after a quick debriefing, and inspecting our weapons, he JOINED IN. Dude was good too! (apparently he had done more than a bit of fencing, and wasn't bad with heavier weapons either... and yes, he took off his gun and his hat... apparently that means something special) He moved his car behind our group of vehicles, turned on his lights, and hung out with us for almost two hours.

I can only imagine what it looked like... cop with sword squaring off with guys in kilts with swords... 50 feet from one of the busiest sections of highway in North America, but man it was fun, and made a long, hot, and otherwise annoying wait for AAA one of the best experiences I can remember.

I think that's a bumper sticker.

I've heard of the Drum Solo of Life, but not the Drum Solo of Roadside Assistance. Way to go, guy; Neal would be proud.

Having once run out of gas on 495 around DC, This is probably more cost-effective than making people call AAA.

Where is the hero tag? Life handed him lemons and he painted that shiat gold.

I feel the need to provide some sort of a rhythmic acknowledgement to your clever pun.

If it was the drum solo from In a Gadda Da Vida, I can definitely see getting gas from it
