As much as I'd like to see the Grizzlies win this series, I'm afraid that the Spurs are just too much for them. It's been established that I'm terrible at predicting basketball games, though, so there's still the hope that I'm just as wrong as I was about the Nuggets, Warriors, and Nets.

I just dropped in to add two words here:

Hey, so here we are in the finals.  Missed last night's game.

Does Memphis have a chance in hell of winning this thing?

They are a slight underdog in my estimation, but that definitely doesnt rule them out, I think the longer the series goes the more it will favor the grizz.

Cavs won the lottery (again) and in the process, provide us with the creepiest picture ever:

You might still take him, don't get cocky. The Cavs have a history of not taking the guy everyone expects them to take (Tristan Thompson over Valuncias, Klay Thompson and others, picking Dion Waiters at 4). Even Irving was hotly debated (I wish we could just have a list of everyone who claimed Derrick Williams would be the superior player). It would not surprise me in the slightest to see them think that they're okay with Varejao and Zeller at center, and pick Otto Porter instead.

Yes, that's exactly how much of a chance they have.

a) Conference finals
b) There wasn't a game last night. The NBA inexplicably wants the Western Conference to play two games before the East plays one.
c) Yes, they do. People always overreact to Game 1. Remember how the Bulls were going to upset the Heat?

Gaaaah....kid is back home from college.  HE WON'T SHUT UP.  He's always been like this, I love him, but I have to adjust myself to it again.  Makes it hard to concentrate on watching the game, finding Random Pretty Girls, or doing some academic-article searches.

I doubt there are enough people in thread to warrant posting images of pretty girls or academic articles.

On the other hand couldnt hurt.

if that's the case, then I say trade down and pick up another pick.  Otto Porter will still be there at a later pick

GET THAT WEAK_ASS SHIAT OUTTA THIS HUMPTY BUMPTY

/ nice defensive stand

2013-05-21 10:14:30 PM
Well, I'll say this- Memphis lost the first two to the Clippers and then rattled off four straight. So all Hollins has to do is to outcoach Popovich as badly as he outcoached Vinny del Negro, and they'll be fine. Oh, wait, that's not even remotely possible. shiat shiat fark.

Well if Randolph is going to shoot 10% from the field for the whole series, then yeah, Memphis is pretty f*cked.

I quit watching the Spurs years ago.

Dirty coach and who wants to watch a team go into "flop mode"

What sucks is they are a good enough team to not need to do this crap.  They'd still beat most teams anytime/anywhere.

2013-05-21 11:37:29 PM
Haven't watched most of the game.  Didn't get home until the 2nd half and it was a 20 point game so I watched the Kings-Sharks.  Grizz made a little run but that seems to have fizzled out.  I thought tthe grizz matched up really well but these old ass Spurs still have a lot left in the tank.  Here's hoping the Memphis coaches figure out how to make some adjustments to make this biatch interesting.

2013-05-21 11:42:20 PM
So um, anyone watching the ending here?

2013-05-21 11:43:22 PM
That could be a flagrant... he pulled the guy down. At least wrap him up.

Yeah, hard foul in yesteryear, but it's 2013.

Criticize the guy for flopping, but Ginobili.

/good. Flagrant 1.

2013-05-21 11:43:26 PM
biatch ass flop Tony Allen. Not flagrant.

2013-05-21 11:43:46 PM
HA, the announcers caught him on the flop and they went with flagrant one. This could be a crazy ending if Memphis hits a 3.

2013-05-21 11:44:10 PM
Well this got interesting

2013-05-21 11:44:40 PM
Tied up.

2013-05-21 11:46:11 PM
Foul or hope for OT?

Spurs pulling a Warriors?

So, I wonder if Tony Allen gets a fine. My guess is it depends on the outcome of this game.

Flop or not, Manu didn't really try for the ball... it was a lot of arm, and he pulled him to the deck. You could call that unnecessary contact, and could be a Flagrant 1. You don't even have to evaluate Allen rolling around like a soccer player.

/that it was Manu doing the foul, and the other guy flopped... that is just icing on the cake

this game is kind of bonkers.

he may have played up his contact with the floor... but he didn't play how he got there.

If they get to 5 overtimes, one of the teams might crack 100.

the grizz are shooting like 2/30 inside the restricted area.

Damn Grizz dont shiat the bed in overtime.  They came from way too far back to fold like this.
