I will admit, I'm intrigued. Mainly because of Spielberg's participation. Question is, are we getting Close Encounters or AI?

2013-05-21 09:45:05 PM
Oh hell yes.

2013-05-21 09:46:22 PM
still wont be better than RvB

Who cares. Spielberg is like all those famous chefs you see on TV. They just throw their name on it with little to no input on the final product.

This. He gets script approval on the pilot, then gets to slap "Steven Spielberg Presents" on the opening credits. Big whoop.

I hope Master Chief gets to shoot the F out of some Covenant loving ETs.

Possibly Taken.

On the other hand, Tiny Toons a Animaniacs both fit into this category, ab they were farking amazing.

Doesn't Spielberg already kind of have a Halo-esque show?

I am still praying that Starz will run with Steven DeKnight's "Incursion".

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

Sure, a Halo show would be something I'd watch... but the guy behind Spartacus doing hardcore military sci fi?!

/PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!11!

Yeah, most of his stuff is his production company now.  They're selling his brand and signature, not his work.

Oh wow, Spartacus was an extremely thrilling series. It quickly became one of my favorites ever and not just because I finally saw Xena naked lol.

If the same guys are tackling this we might get another Starship Troopers (Yes, I know it was nothing like the Heinlein book, but it was hardcore military sci fi, so...)

I would be greatly upset if Blomkamp doesn't get to work an episode in this.
Altho Spielberg influence is nothing to sneeze at, I'm not convinced this is his kind of thing.

343 is going to oversee this, so I'm pretty sure it'll be good if a little safe.

I'm hoping that it'll be like the 2nd half of Forward Unto Dawn w/o the Master Chief.
Save him for the big screen and make the series a sci-fi Band of Brothers about the Spartan 3's and 4's.

This. Everyone seems to think John is the only Spartan worth talking about, but the books have extensively proven otherwise.

Ok,
You got me there. I was just using the term the way it's used in universe.

I have to state that I find the Halo Universe more compelling than what Star Wars has been since EP 1.

The books have really created something worth following from a action sci-fi perspective. Though I do have some concerns with Karen Traviss' take on established characters.
It's a different take for Halsey. That I'm not sure I quite like.

Still, It's been a good ride and I like what's there as a whole.

For all the whining, I'm just happy it's getting produced at all.  We will be saving for the Xbox One starting now.

I'll consider watching it, but only if bees are involved.

Traviss' Halsey seems to be consistent with where the character went in Halo 4's Spartan Ops Season 1, so I think it's something 343 directed.

Also the name thing wasn't directed at you, specifically. It's just my own super anal pet peeve. :)

So are they going to hire child actors that upon killing their victim, they will aggressively teabag the hell out of them and then call the aliens f@gs?

2013-05-21 11:20:30 PM
If it's anything like the game, they'll spend half the season getting somewhere, then half going back through the same places fighting different enemies, because that shiat is kwality.

/the only Halo games I've ever loved were ODST and Reach.

I almost wish he'd go Gordon Ramsay's route, and make "Spielberg's Theater Nightmares", in which he berates new indie film makers for pretentious, half-baked celluloid trash.

You're forgetting the uh... first-dog-shooter? first-person-dog? whatever, you play as the dog for a level before he dies.

If they're going to do a Bungie property I'd rather have a Marathon series.

Just play a continuous loop of ball sacks flying at the screen in 3-D over a soundtrack of 13 year-olds screaming racist and homophobic insults. Now you have HALO: The TV series.

My opinion of him has changed since around 2000 when he started controlling my thoughts with cybernetic implant technology.  I now tend to avoid anything he is involved with because all the pro-Zionist messages he sends to me.

Nope. Not after all the fark speculation threads where fark experts all whined how'd they'd all give up on Xbox and Microsoft, because they'd have to have an always on internet connection to use the new Xbox.

Seems like all those naysayers have suddenly gone silent.

Came here to say this.  I tried a bit of Halo, had a lot of deja vu.  Bring back the Pfhore!
