That's a pretty steep climb. I bet you could see the Jolly Roger on Regina's mighty shore from the top.

This sounds like a job for an interested person and a Kickstarter to pay for the expenses.

Y'know, retirement is only about 10 years away, and living in a lighthouse seems kinda kewl, except....

How about we make it an ultra exclusive restaurant, $500 a plate with only 16 covers a night. Do the molecular gastronomy thing.

So you wanna marry a lighthouse keeper and live by the side of the sea?

Whether warning of danger or marking safe passage, lighthouses stand as beacons of safety and security. And, they're darn interesting places to visit. (new window)

Apparently, they sold another one in Duluth just a few years ago for $31K after none of the nonprofits wanted it. South side breakwater at the aerial lift bridge. That one's already in private hands and is a lot more accessible than this one, so if you really really want a lighthouse in Duluth, I'd be finding more info about that one.

But hey, if nobody wants this one, sounds like you could pick it up pretty cheap. I'm thinking some sort of exclusive private club, where everybody brings their boats out on the few days the weather isn't terrible. There's probably a ton of restrictions on how or where you could add dock facilities, though.
