DROxINxTHExWIND: Soup4Bonnie: Hey Weiner-

You were a firebrand and I loved you. That was before your dick-tweeting. You showed an incredible lack of character and I'll never believe anything you say again, so go away. And for christ's sake, start doing right by your wife, you schmuck.

What?? You mutherfarkers are a trip. By no means am I excusing the dick tweet, but there's ONE person who that should matter too...HIS WIFE. If she can forgive him for actions that fall short of infidelity, then why are you all so torn up about it? Smart people do dumb shiat sometimes. Stop with this judgemental bullshiat about small stuff. You're going to get some asshole elected who is going to do far worse because instead of worrying about policies you'll be checking the internet to make sure the other guy doesn't have any dick pics. This is the bullshiat that got GWB elected the first time. Its not up to a politician to be the shining example of nuclear family life. He has a farking job, just like the guy in the butcher shop and the women in the bank. Unless he is engaging in activity that DIRECTLY CONTRADICTS some policy that he is pushing or some law that he sponsored, STFU about their personal lives.

/end rant

I dunno. A lot of people became computer image forensic experts overnight only to have their expertise discredited once he was done lying. Those people are probably pretty pissed.

Is the Anthony Weiner thing really a sex scandal?  Both show a stunning lack of judgement...

I think Sanford's election is more about the GOP's pathological need to do whatever they imagine makes the libruls all mad.

Meh, let Weiner run just for the lolz.

/I don't know, maybe reading score results is loftier than reading the weather

I think a meteorologist is a real sciency type guy.  So it's not as bad a talking head.

Tom Skilling will beat the crap out of anyone talking smack about weathermen. His Twitter and Facebook feeds are chock full of amazingness and encyclopedic weather knowledge.

It's been said several times before, but I'll say it again.

Sanford doesn't deserve to hold office not because he had an affair. That happens, and I'd like to think that a person can be separately judged by their personal and professional foibles. The problem is that the man lied about his location to his staff, and his security detail.  While governor of the state, he then disappeared off the grid for days, emerging only when the media caught wind. I can tolerate adulterers in office if they're good at their jobs. But this is an unforgivable offence and a dangerous dereliction of duty.

Hmmm, if the choice is between a guy who had an affair and lied about it (no not Clinton, the other guy), and a pervy Twitter weirdo who tried to deflect the press by alleging Breitbart must have hacked his account, I know who I'd pick.

That, and:

1) He stole from the public till to make that trip.  I don't want to hear that he paid the money back.  If the only penalty for theft is you have to return the loot, there is no incentive not to steal.

2) The Publicans are the ones herping and derping about "family values".  Clearly "family values" has nothing to do with marital fidelity and everything to do with them Feelthy Queers.

So when are we getting the Wiener for Mayor yard sign/bumper sticker Photoshop contest?

2013-05-21 06:35:37 PM

Lollipop165: Anthony Weiner has been pretty popular in NYC for a few years. When the "scandal" broke it was more "HAHA his penis!" than any real outrage.

As it really should have been. He didn't actually hurt anyone (other than his wife - that must have sucked for her), he didn't cost taxpayers money.  Really, he just embarrassed himself.

The worst part of it, to me, was "this guy is someone who I think SHOULD be in politics and he gave up too easily."  I don't live in NYC anymore, but I'd like to see him win. That said, I think the job is Christine Quinn's, unless she's caught with a live boy or a dead girl.

The point is how much Weiner lied to the press.
As the administration is now learning lying to the press is not a good idea.

Hey why don't you ask Jonathan Karl about how getting a scoop on a forged memo is not a good idea?

Mitt Romney's Chief Strategist should never admit any of that ever again.

BMFPitt: So when are we getting the Wiener for Mayor yard sign/bumper sticker Photoshop contest?

There was a race where  Wiener and Hickey were running together.  I really wish I still had one of the signs, which hung in my old kitchen for some time.  Mostly because I have the maturity of a 12-year-old boy.

Car_Ramrod: "Stuart Stevens was the chief strategist for Mitt Romney's presidential campaign."
Who in their right mind would brag about something like that?

But he did ski 100 miles across the North Pole...which I guess means.....something?

Romney, the best flip-flopper of them all.  One of his aides must have told him that badmouthing Wiener would be a good career move.

I wouldn't be surprised if at some point he was at a public event (speech, for example) and just flat-out said, "Now, what is it you want me to say so you'll like me more and vote for me?  I'll say it."

2013-05-22 06:11:58 AM
I don't get it, Wiener probably deserved what he received, but he was not in an actual relationship with other women, and didn't forsake his job duties.

I could even forgive what's his name for screwing hookers, because he didn't involve girlfriends that would cause trouble.  It was efficient penis management.

Unlike Sanford who didn't keep things in control and fell in love with the girlfriend.  Then abandon his job for a few weeks.  The screwing around thing could be forgivable....going on leave isn't.

Surely being caught with a live girl would just increase her ratings?
