I realize that I'm part of the problem for even replying to this but why is anyone still listening to this moron?

anyone who doesn't understand the difference between weather and climate shouldn't have a voice on the national stage.

I once had someone say that because it was snowing in New England in January, there was no global warming.

Because someone needs to speak for the irrational and incompetent? She's the unelected Queen of Derp, no political office or power and just sucks away resources from the twits that follow her.

She better warm up the car with the garage door closed, just to stay warm of course.

People agree with this.

Isn't she like the Lindsay Lohan of politics now? Lindsay will never star in a major motion picture again and Sarah Palin will never hold high elective office again, and yet we continue to be fascinated by their shenanigans and eagerly await the next episode in their respective meteoric.descents.

This is what happens when people start naming things without considering how the media will take the minute of all details and run with it. Had it been called man made climate change from the begining instead of global warming then maybe we could have avoided the mass denial along these line.

The problem isn't the name.  It's the fact that the GOP's oil interests have a negative impact on the planet.  Republicans don't simply fail to understand global climate change.  They choose to reject reality where global climate change is concerned.  Spitefully, in fact.  They have a "take  that, rational thought!" approach to it.

I understand why GOP shills like Palin disagree with the majority of the scientific community because it's about money but what about all the Joe 12 packs who deny global warming, what's in it for them? Is it just party loyalty?

I am guessing because she is a shining star in Alaska and out there to convince the world that her fellow Alaskans are smart too just like her.

I think the institutional distrust of "elites" and "academics" and "intellectuals" deliberately inculcated into them by the GOP has a lot to do with it. So yeah, it's party loyalty, but the party has also deliberately crafted this response.

Amusing story there. You see, scientists have always differentiated between "climate change" and "global warming" as appropriate. But then Frank Luntz sent out a memo, and the G.W. Bush administration sent out their own memos, and somehow Fox News changed their own wording themselves.

Not that it makes much difference to most people, but here's the relationship:

Because she's hilarious.  (People that take her seriously need help, obviously.)

I disagree with this if you're referring to the leadership.  I think they know damned well what's going on, they just have a "f*ck you, I'm gettin' mine" attitude about it.  If, however, you're referring to your average Republican, you may be spot-on.

Mugato: what about all the Joe 12 packs who deny global warming, what's in it for them? Is it just party loyalty?

Is my guess.  (I honestly don't know, though; I've given up trying to figure out what the hell those people are thinking.)

On the plus side, she really doesn't. I mean, the sound of her voice is there, but she is entirely unelectable, and everyone knows this. Let her make her stupid comments, as this is a nation where we watch something called Honey Boo Boo, but no one takes them seriously, either.

Should've stressed this earlier.  Does not apply to Joe 12-packs in general.  Cheers!

I think a lot of people just don't want to believe. The consequences of global climate change are pretty horrible.
