As I was SAYING in the other thread, MODERATOR, that one is headed towards Granbury, which was devastated during last week's storms. There's also a tornado warning for Montague County, which also had a tornado touch down last week (EF2). Are we working on some tornado ruts out here or what?

zomega: ariseatex: And now Joplin's under a tornado warning.

Oh god. One of my classmates lost his first home in the last Joplin tornado, and had just finished rebuilding.

Anderson Hills here got wiped out twice. A street or two over got wiped out three times in two years.

Switched over to KFOR. Guy's standing right outside Plaza, but he's not referring to a recovery operation. Yet.

It's looking like the tornado itself may pass to the south of Joplin proper, if it stays on its current course.

So the same path as Picher, OK 2008 F4?

Some guy on CNN is thanking the Lord for saving them from the tornado. The one He sent. And flattened an elementary school with.

aedude01: Popcorn Johnny: aedude01: If your source is CNN or FOX I wouldn't put your sad face on yet.

Fox has had the best coverage of any network, stop being a fool.

LOL. -- Yeah, I'm calling bullshiat on that one.  MSNBC on the other hand...

Actually, as a pretty dedicated MSNBC arugula eater, Fox does alright when there's genuine breaking news going on.  I don't know that I'd call them 'best,' but they do bring in a couple less-than-braindead anchors.

I was wondering what happened to the dog...

People who risk their lives for animals are a special group. That's the second one today they've interviewed.

All of these cells seem to have reorganized after passing Tulsa, and into an environment with more energy...

What is it about Tulsa that tornadoes avoid?

Listening to the scanner feed for Cleveland county mostly Norman ems something about sooner road was shut down and people having to go over to Choctaw road to get to interstate, that is eight miles! Just heard that it is cleared enough to let emergency vehicles get through.

these guys make concrete domes, and I believe that its much better protection than a traditional stick built house.  I would hope that we can move towards building houses and buildings for folks, instead of what we use now...its too flimsy.

And heres a concrete dome over a school being built then collapsing

How the fark do they always find the biggest rednecks to interview! Damn, I swear we are not all rednecks round these here parts.

Oh man, Tom Cole the Congressional representative for the area said his home was a mile from the school and he grew up in the area and he sounds like he's trying real hard to hold it together.

I'm listening to this farktard on CNN talk about how Jesus saved him and his wife from the tornado, and how the Lord took care of him. I wanted the reporter to ask him "So, those 24 children killed in that elementary school just weren't right with the Lord, eh?"

"Potentially dozens of casualties" is as close as this guy got...
oh, crap, and they just said "recovery" there.

I flamed Danica Patrick on her twitter when she was talking about praying for the safety of the people in Moore.

"the disaster already happened. stop praying and open your purse and call the red cross. praying didn't work, time for actual action"

She did save her dog.  And the cops can ticket her, she doesn't care.  But she may have a little concussion in her head.

I feel awful for all the lame horses standing about, they'll all be put down no doubt. I know human loss is infinitely more tragic but animals are just as innocent as children. Poor biatches.

Weather Channel now reporting the student fatalities at Plaza Towers.  Think they purposely avoided reporting it for a while there just to be "safe", I guess.

I am watching the live feed on ABC and it like, Wow!  One of the schools that was hit, moved children into neighborhood away from the school.  They only had 4 children to match with parents.  The news folks were trying to get the word out about the kids.  Three were from one family. Hope they get with them soon.

It's how the news operates. They interview dozens of people; but, only the most interesting people make the news.

/ personally, I wouldn't ever give any news group any sort of sound bite.

Hm, it may be. I think I've had my lifetime limit of tornadic experiences so I've developed a weather bubble that deflects all the worst stuff.

In other news, not sure if I should stick with national coverage to keep up with Moore or stay local in case we get a warning. Hm..... I know the answer sounds obvious, but....

Should they really be searching for animals right now where there are a lot of people still unaccounted for and not enough rescue personnel to get to them all? Everybody in the area should be looking for people, not a farking cat or dog.
