Tell you what, Bush administration people: we will let you know when Obama is getting close to as awful as you guys were. Until then, just slink back into the shadows and stay there.

Lack of conscience and the inability to feel shame makes them immune to this sort of appeal.

People taking Karl Rove seriously on this subject?

Chilling, indeed.

Beyond the pale, in fact.

I'm not a fan of the aggressive response exhibited by the Obama Administration against the press. I'm fairly certain though that it's less damaging to the rule of law than initiating leaks yourself in an attempt to harm critics, jeopardizing intelligence operations and American lives into the bargain.

Amazing that this administration is giving up the high ground to the previous administration.

It really isn't but when they speak it helps draw attention away from current problems.

Buuuu Bush.

When Dick Cheney dies, they should bury Rove along with him, whether Rove is dead or not.

Yep Scooter Libby going to jail was nothing.

So, they are going all in on the AP thing then....humm

Did the britebarting of the e-mails make Bengazhi not seem 10X's worse than Watergate and Iran/Contra combined?

Shhh, we don't mention Iran-Contra when discussing Presidential scandals, it might offend the memory of Saint Ron.

Watergate is fair game now though, because Republicans have convinced themselves that Nixon was a liberal.

I hope Issa opened the same e-mail you did.

I was a bit shocked and amused that was now the metric. I thought they GOP was making strides because they were finally admitting Iran/Contra was bad.

Guess not

A CIA Agent has been outed because they called bullshiat on Bush's lies for going to Iraq. The person who outed them got away with it. That is a scandal.

Well accept for that part of breaking the law and ruining a CIA agents life because she told the truth and then Bush PARDONING the person found guilty.

Looked this up on the internets.  Was pleasantly surprised to find it had nothing to do with sexual variant (ala "a lefty cappuchino" or "angry pirate" or "snowplow").

And there is circumstantial evidence that Cheney knew about this and sent Libby to do it (they met just before Libby met with Novak). But of course the Bush administration wouldn't let us hear the conversation between Libby and Cheney, so we don't know.

One of the few acts that Bush did while in office I am over 30% OK with; got Scooter out of jail but didn't pardon him. I'm sure Dick was pissed his little buddy didn't get off.

Was Clint Eastwood's empty chair just a subtle tribute to the Daily Show?!? Or did he really come up with it all on his own?

From TPM

"I read the FBI affidavit regarding the request for access to Rosen's gmail account, and it does not match up closely with the current media backlash. Everyone seems up in arms about surveillance of Rosen's phone calls and building entries. Do reporters actually think that phone calls they receive on State Department phones within the State Department building are private?

Even when the originating call is also a State Department phone in the same building? Do reporters think that the State Department isn't going to check when you badge into and out of the State Department building when they know that someone in that building leaked top secret info to you?

Basically, Rosen was being leaked top secret info and he did not follow even the most basic procedures to protect the identity of his source. Everyone compares it to Watergate... but that would be a more apt comparison if W&B had repeatedly met "deep throat" in his White House office. "
