For those who can't be bothered to click (and I wish I was one of you), I stopped reading when the article mentioned that there's no evidence that Obama or anyone under his authority did anything wrong, but absence of evidence for illicit activity isn't the only standard.  I can't quote, because I can't imagine going back to that article, let alone reading enough of it to find the actual quote.  Your mileage may vary, but if you're at all sensitive to insanity, you might want to pass on this one.

Cheers.

bopis: I think liberals who use the term teabaggers are right there with conservatives who say things like "Barack HUSSEIN Obama".

why shouldn't liberals use a term that conservatives used to describe the members of their movement?

Ok, so:

1. My dad was a respected journalist, and covered Watergate, and I believe that his sheen carries over to me, and allows me to equate Watergate with, well, whatever I like
2. I write for a partisan web site where blogging and insinuation have replaced investigative journalism.  Our method of investigating is to say, "Why doesn't Obama prove to us that he isn't history's greatest monster?  What is he hiding?"
3. "We don't know if Obama or his minions also keep enemies lists, if only in their heads."  We also don't know if Carl Cannon has been kidnapping, killing and eating young children.  Can't rule it in.  Can't rule it out.
4. "But we do know that they view the media with the same with-us-or-against-us mentality that Nixon fostered."  No other presidents have done this.  Just Nixon and Obama.  Nixon and Obama.  Obama and NIxon.  Nixon. Obama.  Obama.  Nixon.  Nixon=Obama=Nixon=Obama

It's like Clinton deja vu.

First term -- play the strong, crazy neocon (teabagger, in Obama's case) card to try to distance yourself from Bush. Second term, play that down a bit to make yourself look a bit more sane and rational, and concentrate on throwing scandals at him until something sticks so you can resume raping the country's assets in the next term.

Ctfl-f "teabaggers"

Um, you are the only one who typed that.  Even the author of the article didn't type that word.  Why would you come in here and announce such a thing?

I think Democrats should use this new precedent surround the absence of evidence to accuse Republicans of every goddamn thing they can think of.

Look, just because John Boehner says he doesn't have sex with young boys brought over from Thailand, that doesn't mean that he is not having sex with young boys brought over from Thailand.

The man drinks so much, you can't trust anything he says.

I love how republicans have to add "Gate" to their made up "scandals" for democrats so you don't actually look at the details and just go "Look it has 'gate' on the end, it MUST be a scandal!" This is the same thing "Look we are comparing him to Nixon, he then MUST be guilty!!"

It's what you do in advertising you put things together to associate them even if there is no proof. It's pure propaganda 101.

No evidence has been unearthed connecting Obama, or anyone under his direction, to illicit activities. But the absence of criminality isn't the only test here. Nixon's "enemies," at least in his mind, also included vast swaths of the Fourth Estate. That apparently is how the current president operates, too.

Wow what a piece of shiat
