In the Obama administration, it's not uncommon for a White House press official to scream profanely over the phone at journalists whose stories they dislike, plant questions from friendly media outlets, and deny access to briefings to reporters who ask tough questions.

Outrageous Muff: Obama is more like Reagan since he has no idea what's coming on in his administration.

coming on? That sounds more like a Clinton administration.

And his polls go up. None of these pass the smell test. The GOP will eventually look down and realize they are way over the cliff, regroup, and construct next month's ACME Scandal.

Are they still trying to make this stick?!?
I think that's the saddest thing I've ever heard...

It's like Clinton deja vu.

First term -- play the strong, crazy neocon (teabagger, in Obama's case) card to try to distance yourself from Bush. Second term, play that down a bit to make yourself look a bit more sane and rational, and concentrate on throwing scandals at him until something sticks so you can resume raping the country's assets in the next term.

Every time they swing and miss more people put them in the "party that cried wolf" bucket.

In 2016 the Democrats should simply run a list of all the absurd charges the GOP has attempted as their sole campaign point.

Democrats: We may not be perfect, but we're not the bunch of lying morons who try to keep you outraged for years on end!

my sincere apologies. (I love Tim Conway by the way)

What this really does for every American, i think, is it gives them a focal point for them to at least start to categorize just how bad this is for Obama.

InmanRoshi: When you have official transcripts of Obama saying crazy shiat like this, then start comparing him to Nixon.   Until then STFU and GBTW.

[Transcript Text]

Transcripts of President Obama not saying such things have not been released, which is just as effective proof as would be transcripts of President Obama making such statements.

KyngNothing: KyngNothing: Republicans and 'conservative media' spend all weekend comparing Obama to Nixon.
On Monday, they google "Obama Nixon" and spend all week righting articles about how "people" are making the comparison.

And in the end, we're no closer to finding out what really happened, or why it's a scandal.

Holy hell, I meant "writing"...

No, you were right the first time.

IF what this shiatty reporter at a shiatty blog is saying is true about the Obama administration, I wish shiatty reporters from these shiatty blogs would STOP acting like the Bush White House and, oh, EVERY WHITE HOUSE PRIOR engaged in this kind of thing.

Yes, because Arugula should is actually called "rocket" and Israel was trying to prevent Syria from transporting rockets to Hamas. But Barack likes "rocket" and therefore hates Israel, so he should be impeached.

Let me get this straight. In order to point out how bad these "scandals" are, Republicans can only compare Obama to Republicans. And they can only compare the current "scandals" to Republicans scandals.

Wow, the Dems must be better people than I thought. No wonder Obama's approval ratings went up.

Well to be fair, Obama and Nixon share a lot in common.

They're both homo sapiens, they both breathe oxygen, drink water.  They're both carbon based.

Jackson Herring: No evidence has been unearthed connecting Obama, or anyone under his direction, to illicit activities. But the absence of criminality isn't the only test here. Nixon's "enemies," at least in his mind, also included vast swaths of the Fourth Estate. That apparently is how the current president operates, too.

Wow what a piece of shiat

It's almost as if "innocent until proven guilty" isn't a thing anymore.

I dated a girl in college who was surprisingly assisted with a paper by Bob Woodward himself (over the phone, which I listened to). It was sometime in the 90s. No matter what you may think of Woodward's fairly recent abandonment of sanity, he was an actual journalist uncovering a very serious problem that brought down the leader of the "free world."

The folks squawking right now? They suck. Some of them appear to be grasping at straws for ideological reasons. I say that not as a partisan but as someone who appreciates actual investigative journalism. Articles this year/week/day seem more full of innuendo than fact. And it's beginning to piss me off. "What, if anything, did the president know" is not a news article. It's cheap pandering, and also more evidence (not that we haven't given you enough) of the "liberal media" canard.

If the Brietbarts and "liberal media" provide me with stone-cold evidence of impropriety at the executive level, I will be the first in line to throw a rock at my president. Until then, stop making mountains of molehills for the sake of drama.

That's not even innocent until proven guilty. It's more presumed guilty, absence of evidence confirms guilt.

I don't think you're following. You really need to be upset about this, so you can give Fox News more ratings, and maybe vote Republican in the mid-terms.

"That Obama's as bad as a Republican", say Republicans. Utterly brilliant plan, you clowns.
