"The fact that Obama hasn't produced the official document saying "I've officially ordered everything to be Hitlered, Forever" pretty much is either an admission that the document exists and he's hiding it, or he isn't interested in proving that it doesn't exist.

Therefore we must conclude that Obama has Hitlered everything, forever." -- InmanRoshi

He's clearly a Nixonian puppetmaster abusing power and pulling the strings to attack his enemies while being completely inept and clueless as to what his subordinates are doing.    What's worse is he's purposely manipulating and distorting the message to mislead while not doing a real good job of getting a handle on how to properly communicate to the American people what exactly happened.   I'm not saying he'shiatler or Nixon, just saying it's a little Watergate-ish and Holocausty

I have not suggested that Obama is somehow unique in this.  He's not. But he's supposed to be BETTER. And he's not.

I know you know that just becasue other people ALSO sucked at this, doesn't change whether or not his team sucks.

Again, even if he is completely blameless in each of these scandals, the rookie mistakes that his messaging team keep making are doing damage. These are self-inflicted wounds, easily avoided. He DOES need to replace the people in his administration that keep putting out disprovable explinations.

I don't follow. Do you think that these things won't affect his numbers in upcoming polls?
Or do you think that his numbers are particularly good? Or that they are better than really awful where they have been?
Or do you think that his job approval numbers are exclusively about these 'scandals', and not the general, albeit anemic stabilization of the economy?

When I went to Kindergarten, a mentally handicapped boy named Johnathan Rubin shared my class. He didn't talk well and would scream "HOT SAUCE, HOT PICKLES, BARBECUE!" to get attention. He regularly got in trouble for eating out of the garbage after lunch, and several times a week he would poop his pants and just sit in it until someone else pointed out to the teacher that he'd done so.

He was more intelligent then than Jennifer Rubin is now.

Given that 43% of the country are going to hate him simply because he's Blacky McBlackerson playing for Team Donkey, yeah.  They're pretty good.

And when you break down the numbers, it pretty clearly show that that only people who think he's to blame for any of these "scandals" are those 43%.

I think we're finally seeing "scandal overload".

Unless and until there are charges filed (and, I'd argue, convictions; unless they arrest 100 people or some other attention-grabbing thing), people are just too used to the GOP spinning horsehiat into headlines for innuendo and allegation to be effective.

That and they keep hearing the GOP say and do stupid things.

Most people just aren't particularly jacked in to this stuff. Of the ones that are, a fraction are the ones that inject Fox and AM radio between their toes and they've been at maximum volume for years. A similar percentage are highly dissatisfied with Obama but get no love and have no common ground with the 101st Chairborne Derp Brigade because the things they're mad about (militarism and aggressive right-wing capitalism) are the parts the derpers are either super-happy with or would be super-happy with if they acknowledged at all. Everyone else is just used to the whining being at maximum and at this point are waiting for the Republicans to do something, anything, to substantiate their nonsense. When they won't even pursue obviously spurious impeachment proceedings - which they have an established history of doing - let alone addressing the "issues" that could be fixed with legislation by actually legislating no one outside the echo chamber is going to take them particularly seriously.

There's a famous fable with that exact moral. You should maybe mail your local Republicans a copy; seems like they could learn a thing or two. (There's also one in there about long-necked jugs vs bowls, but that one's a mite esoteric.)

A Dark Evil Omen: Most people just aren't particularly jacked in to this stuff.

A Dark Evil Omen:Most people just aren't particularly jacked in to this stuff.

No doubt.

A Dark Evil Omen: Of the ones that are, a fraction are the ones that inject Fox and AM radio between their toes and they've been at maximum volume for years.

Do you mean left-wingers or right-wingers? Without their daily dose of Fox/AM outrage, most rabid lefties start winding down. If I ever want to know what Rush or Hannity or Beck said about something (which is exceedingly rare), I ask the most rabidly left-wing of my friends, becasue they WILL know exactly. But I digress...

When they won't even pursue obviously spurious impeachment proceedings - which they have an established history of doing - let alone addressing the "issues" that could be fixed with legislation by actually legislating no one outside the echo chamber is going to take them particularly seriously.

I don't think that anyone outside of the right-wing paid provacatuer set and the derpiest wing-nut teabaggers have an actual interest in impeachment. Even those people vociferously opposed to "Obama's Big Government Takeover" just want it stopped. Impeachment is not an end goal for almost anyone.

I DO think that the combined weight of all these (largely) self-inflicted scandal-ettes is starting to pierce the public consciousness outside of political wonks. I get the sense that it is starting to boil over into the "lot of smoke for there to be no fire" sense among the non attentive public. When even my grandmother-in-law, who is as un-political as it is humanly possible to be is aware of it, it has crossed over.

And for the record, regardless of your politics, it is not good for the country for the president to be caught saying things that are demonstrably false. The primary job of the White House Press team is to prevent the administration from doing that, while presenting things in the best possible light. Too many times, this team has put the White House in the position of having to retract, recant, and re-phrase things for no really good reason. it's no good.
