RatMaster999: Aidan: On a more serious note, this is actually what I've been arguing that we should be doing; throw some animals up into space, see what happens. They're cheap and expendable (although clearly dogs and cats have that whole cuteness thing going for them), and we could learn tons more than we're learning by very carefully sending humans up every 2 months to very carefully not do anything too crazy. As with testing cosmetics and medicines, why bother testing it on animals then extrapolating the data? We've got plenty of convicts who are otherwise simply using up our tax money. Dose a few experimental drugs, throw some shampoo in the eyes of some others, and launch a few into space to find out how long it take for microgravity to make them unable to function back on Earth. Then the data's right there, already in human form, and we keep the prison population down.
