If he's still willing to try to shield her from errant projectiles he could easily plead ignorance of, they must be doin' okay.

Yes, its been an absolute classic in Chicago for 30 years.  One of the first things I remember going "viral" before that was even a concept.  People would pass copies of it on cassette to each other.  The guy who did the interview- Les Grobstein- mentioned it made its way to Europe, Japan, all over.

I hate when people do that. There are plenty of ugly troglodytes at each park, as well as plenty of attractive people (just that it's less of both at Comiskey by default because of their lower attendance). All the same people go to Bears, Bulls, and Hawks games so I don't know what point they think they're getting across.

Plus half of those super-hot Cubs girl pictures are usually promo girls that are being paid to wear the gear to help attract the frat portion of the crowd.

I was going to post a very similar comment. I've often heard how we southsiders are of a lower grade than the high-class people up north.

/as if there was a shortage of proof to the contrary
/have a few fans attack people on the field and your entire fanbase's reputation is sullied forever.

Wait - a woman dumping beer on husband's head in an (at worst) catty husband and wife bickering equalizes beating Tom Gamboa & that umpire (in terms of drawing silly generalizations from individual fans)?

I'm going to need to see the math on that one.

One morsel of information that always seems to go by the wayside in these arguments are that Eric Dybas (the OTHER one that attacked an umpire) is a Cubs fan that went to a day game at Wrigley, got drunk, then went to the Sox game and attacked an umpire.

In other words, both fanbases have their fair share of ugly, violent idiots.

Slightly off topic, but needs to be asked.

Are there any other life-long Cubs fan out there who just can't stand the team anymore? Watching or listening to anything associated is just painful now.

Meanwhile, non-Chicago baseball fans laugh at both your general directions.

/Because the important thing is they feel superior to Chicago in every way.
//See Chicago-style politics, "they ban guns but have a high murder rate hurr", etc. etc.

I was being sarcastic with that statement. Cubs fans just have a general air about them, where they think they are all more intelligent and more friendly ("We play in the friendly confines. Derpderp." and better looking (there are a decent amount of girls that look like ChewieLouie's at Cubs games, but the Sox have that as well). I know we have more than our fair share of asshole fans.
