I've heard that installing adblock reduces the chances of getting pr0n ads bordering your intended entertain or accidentally clicking on something that leads to pornography by a hundred fold.

Mr Watkins said he had written to their parents to warn them they were going against the social network's own rules and that they were potentially exposing their children to inappropriate material.

SO, I can justify surfing porn as "research" to stay on top of, so I can keep my kids safe?

Sounds good to me.

I did like one of the comments below the article, saying he and his mates had been caught by his mum, watching porn on VHS. All she said was "just don't think real sex is like that" and left them to it.

That would certainly knock the wind out of your sails...

(Also enjoyed the one that said if kids get the wrong idea and think spuffing all over the girl's face is normal then we might tackle the teenage pregnancy rates...)

WTF kind of porn are they watching? I'm confused.

Is it dehydration that's the danger here? Lack of vitamin D?

Facebook has inappropriate material?

/serious question

I remember being six and trying to grab my gandfather's playboys which he just kept on the top shelf. I think I only wanted them because people were freaking out that I grabbed one. As far as "self image" goes, I think my classmates did a pretty good job of destroying that before anything in print got a chance to.

Resident Muslim: Facebook has inappropriate material?

/serious question

I have not looked at this stuff myself (there are better places to find filth than on facebook) but I did discover a friend of mine had a second fb account (FB suggested I might know this account as well as the first account!) in which he was 'friends' with or 'liked' a whole bunch of pornstars. When asked about this he mumbled something about "you'd be surprised what they share on there".

I guess it's just another advertising channel.

I think this is a great idea! We know they're going to watch it. They know we know, so as long as we've got a channel of communication open, I say we sieze the carp and make the best of it.

Early Porn Warnings should take the form of life lessons implanted into the meaty plot of adult films. Imagine the penetrating impact on an impressionable young mind when in the midst of overacted humping, both performers pause, smile at the camera and say something like: "You'll never look your best on the set unless you remember do brush your teeth after every meal!" and resume.

Sounds like too much work to find porn in the net (not sure what facebook's policy towards that is anyway).
Unless its a sense of knowing this person, is the only reason I can think of.

I expect some US Congressperson , up for re-election and looking for free media coverage will sponsor a bill creating the "Early Porn Alert System".

"This is a test of the Early Porn Alert System. This is only a test.

Transmit EAPS attention signal.

This has been a test of the Early Porn Alert System. The broadcasters in your area in conjunction with National, State and local official have created this system to keep you informed. If this had been a real early porn alert, you would have been instructed where to tune in your area for news and official information. This concludes this test of the Early Porn Alert System".

I feel safer already.

manhole: "Dangers" of pornography? do tell...

This.  I keep wondering what dangers they are talking about.

Unrealistic expectations?

"No son, not every 18 year old out there is going to want sloppy anal from you."
"Sorry Hon, they don't all have foot long penises that last 45 minutes before they cum."
"Stop looking for girls that have 44F boobs with a 24 inch waist - she's had a boob job."
"Stop thinking you are going to have 44F boobs without getting a boob job."
"No, they're acting - it doesn't taste great."
"That's fake - nobody produces a cup or more of semen in one ejaculation"
"No, they don't all like it rough - they'll tell you if they do."
"Those aren't MILFs - it's marketing"

Hazardous activity?

"No ATM, ever.  They did extreme enemas off camera."
"No, they aren't going in dry - the lube was added off camera"
"If you aren't sure there is enough lube, there isn't enough lube.  Also it might feel fine to you, but she/he might have a different opinion - ask."
"No, that isn't her/his first time anal - she/he worked up with a buttplug before the shoot"
"Beware of chaffing - don't masterbate too often"
"Skipping the birth control is not worth the 20 years of supporting a kid"
"Use a condom - the extra feeling isn't worth the STD."

Intimate Social behavior?

"You ask your friend's mother for sex I'm beating you myself."
"If your friend's mother asks you for sex and you say anything to anyone, I'll beat you senseless.  And pay attention to what she tells you to do, you'll learn something."
"No means no, except when it means maybe, convince me.  And convincing is done with words, actions, not compelling her/him physically."
"Unless you pre-setup the fantasy with a safeword and you have just confirmed it, when she says stop, you stop or I'll cut if off since you can't control yourself"
"Be clear and firm in your rejection.  'Don't <giggle/brief pause> Stop' in a girly voice can be misinterpreted.  'I don't want to do this' or 'NO!' is how you get your point across."
"Don't be a cock tease.  If you lead him along, be a big girl and finish him off."
"If you use pickup lines from porn flicks, you are doing it wrong."
"Talk to each other damn it.  And listen too."

Generally when asked this the people who want to "warn" of the dangers generally start having speaking problems, looking like you are asking this to just embarrass them (well, duh) and usually turn bright red.  If you want to rail against erotica, you better be knowledgeable and comfortable talking about the topic, otherwise you will be dismissed as a prodnose prude.  But then they are requesting all this get repressed so they don't have to confront their own insecurities.  It is puzzling how these people figure out enough to reproduce.  Instinct must be quite powerful to overcome such repression.

manhole: "Dangers" of pornography? do tell...

I asked myself same question, looked around internet. Found some material from American Life League ,
Which basically states that everyone who watches porn would eventually rape and kill, or either, or both ways, or at best - commits suicide. I am not trying to say that it is bunch of boloney, lots of mind workmanship was put into some researches. Question arose - how heck did people survived before porn??? Because nothing would drive them to rape, kill or both.
It appears from these studies, that our ancestors, no matter how ignorant they were, they found way to do either or both from above, by simply attending to some religious services while in youth. Smart people our ancestors.

Are we talking about buttsecks here?
Because I've never once needed lube, nor does it seem to be part of general sex-play here in the good ol' UK AFAICT, and I got around a bit in younger days.

I guess I've never felt compelled to stick it up a girl's behind either though.

I think that's the best possible tact to take when you find your kids watching porn.  Talk to them about it and make sure they understand what's unrealistic.

"Obviously, the woman here is representative of what most women look like and, lucky for you, the guy is a bit better endowed than the average man can expect.  Now what he's doing is pleasurable to many women but can be a little scary at first.  You can just go at it like that the first time. Now I remember when I first tried it..."

The kids will likely never look at porn again.

I think it's so cute that there are so many people here talking about how unrealistic porn is.

If you really go through your life thinking that there are no women who actually like doing the stuff you see in those videos, then I can tell you you just haven't met the right women. If you're a woman who insists that there aren't any women out there who like doing that stuff... stop. Just stop. Don't project your own inhibitions and dislikes onto the rest of the population. Stop trying to make it all go away just by saying that it's not real. A lot of the stuff you watch is staged, but there's also a lot of that stuff that's not staged. (The best stuff is the amateur stuff that appears to be genuine -- maybe it is -- and you really can't tell one way or the other. Stop trying to be so goddamned politically correct about porn.

Parents: If you don't want your kids looking at porn, then tell them you don't want them looking at it. If you want to try the various methods of blocking it, then go ahead. It's your prerogative. The best way to keep them from indulging is to monitor their activity, and let them know you're monitoring it. And even then, especially if you have a boy, he's going to sneak an occasional peak anyway. (Even though girls look at it, too.)

It's just like the old days when our dads kept their Playboy and Penthouse magazines in that box in the back corner of the garage. Mom was the one who told him to get that stuff out of the house. Dad knew where it was. You knew where it was, but you never discussed it with Dad. Dad figured that you knew where it was, but he was cool with that as long as he didn't catch you looking at it (mainly because Mom would raise a stink if she found out). Your friends knew you knew where it was. And, occasionally, you'd sneak a look. Okay... Internet porn is the same way... except that it's like having thousands of boxes of those magazines hidden in thousands of garages AND access to the Super 8 movie projector with thousands of cargo container ships loaded with Swedish Erotica™ and Rodox™ movie reels...

Hmm... Jeebus... I really hadn't looked at it that way before...

Oh hell... Just take the computers and smartphones away from the kids and be done with it.

... and you're right, ladies: Women don't like anal, and they don't like to swallow cum. Orgasms don't really exist. There are no such thing as bisexuals, and beautiful women are never lesbians. You're absolutely right. They're all actresses forced to do it for the money. it's just a job. It's all a myth. It's all bad. Sex is bad. Men are evil. Blah blah blah. Go watch Oprah and The View and feel good about yourselves.

/Now, where the hell did I put my Geritol?

*I* don't want to do the stuff in some of those videos, and I'm pretty sure that in an awful lot of the woman doesn't really either, you can see that in their faces.

Fark Me To Tears: Stop trying to make it all go away just by saying that it's not real.

Sorry bub, most of it ain't.

Yeah, there are a large number of people in the world who like to get their kink on in various ways, but a minority. Even amongst the men and women that enjoy porn. Would have no desire to actually be a participant in half the shiat I've watched.

This is a little late in the thread to make that post.

But the fact remains that porn is a fantasy. Of course human sexuality is highly variable. But most of the stuff in porn is just fantasy. Do lots of women like doing blowjobs where they gag or make Popeye "gug-gug-gug" sounds as they polish the knob? Do a majority of women like having you pull out when you're ready to cum and blow your load on their eyelids? How many women enjoy slurping on a cock right after it's pulled out of their ass?

Reverse Cowgirl is vastly more popular in porn than in real life because it's a handy way to keep watching the woman's tits and snatch while having sex rather than watching some porn dude's ass thrusting while he covers her body. He's just a stunt dick, a living Sybian.

And I say this as someone who's had a girlfriend that was into rape fantasies, another that got off on being titty farked, and another that so dedicated to sucking cock she was positively insane with glee at the act.
