Dude, they brought back Laura Hall and Linda Taylor. I am more excited for this to return than I was before

Only got 2 thing to say about this.

1)  Greenlight it.
2)  Everybody watch that clip.  It's classic WLITA.  Haven't laughed that hard in a month or two.

you sir, have no taste

It's odd.  Whenever I'm improvising in bed, I also hear a buzzer.

The new host is certainly much easier on the eyes than Drew

/from the little I saw she looks like she could work well in that spot

HOEDOWN!

I know Ryan Stiles detested it, but the shots they took at Colin Mochrie were legendary and it was always entertaining.

I'm always amazed by Wayne Brady. I've done improv comedy, and comingup with song lyrics like that off the top of your head is NOT easy.

"Everyone is older but the show remains the same"

No it doesn't. There's a distinct lack of English accents and Clive Anderson.

I don't know... it depresses me a little bit, and it's missing Drew Carey...

It has the folks that matter, however, and so I'm willing to give it a look-see. I liked both the first and the second version of the show, so I have to give this one a chance, too.

Finally...a reason to watch TV again.

Yes and No. Drew was hilarious as a host. She seems... a bit on the meh side, she could do better once the show actually premiers but so far, I aint impressed with her.

/Did love Wayne, Colin and Ryan.

The CW revival of the series, which started in the late 90′s and ran for 8 seasons

I found it to be slightly depressing but maybe that's only because the clip was essentially just shilling for another CW show.

Even the middle background is the same.  I wonder if it was saved from the previous run.

The fact CW let them trash the show, gives me hope for the content.

/But will they let Bill Cosby and Hitler be roommates?

Bald and grey hair?  Just a guess.

Colin is also a little overweight.

That's the magic of editing.  Laura Hall did an AMA on Reddit promoting the show and said they will stand there for bars upon bars of music thinking of the next line.

He was fun, but Drew was far better in the outtakes, honestly, when he could be unleashed a bit. We'll see - my worry is that Aisha Tyler looked stiff in that clip. Drew was at least willing to go all in on occasion.

It's not completely off the top of their heads  They know what topics are coming and do roughly a two-hour show, with the best bits being edited into the show.

/went to a taping in 2005
//probably about twenty-five sketches
///five or six usually make it into the show

This is my nomination for what we show the Aliens to prove we have a sense of humor.

When I was home for a sick day in middle & high school, I always made sure to watch WLIIA (Old version) and thats where I learned what proper improv is.

Have you seen her standup?  I watched it once and immediately fell in love.   She has a fantastic sense of humor.

2013-05-19 11:09:32 PM
God no.  The music parts were always the absolute worst, unfunny part of the show.  Ryan Stiles was right about that.  Also, Aisha Tyler looked surprisingly old in that clip.  She should not be permitted to look middle-aged like that.

Whenever I get a hankering for some improv, I'll check on youtube for the best outtakes from the original show.

Greg Proops was awesome on that show.  Then I listened to him on Jay Mohr's podcast and it ruined the magic.  There's nothing duller than someone explaining the mechanics of comedy instead of just doing comedy.  It was 60 minutes of almost pure torture.

My thoughts:

Good - Who's Line Is It Anyways is returning.
Bad - CW.

The clip was enjoyable, I laughed.  However, this is CW, so I'd expect it to be treated as filler between seasons of "America's Next Top Model".

I think I heard a similar kind of hell on radio one day (Maybe NPR) of him breaking it all down.   I love what he does but he is not very good at explaining it in an entertaining way.

I'm pretty sure this show is as much improv as reality shows are real.
I still think it's very funny and the one with Robin Williams was outstanding.

Great Janitor: However, this is CW, so I'd expect it to be treated as filler between seasons of "America's Next Top Model".

If they market it right it could be one of their most-watched shows if viewers can figure out which station is CW in their markets (if there is one).

She's charming, witty, nerdy and has boobs - so it's as close to Drew as the real thing.
/Fat Drew is gone, so we'll never get that magic back.

I saw Colin and Brad live last year.  They were great.  They're all genuinely funny guys.  But of course the TV show is a "greatest hits" of their comedy.  They film tons of stuff that gets left on the cutting room floor.

"Who's Line Is It Anyways" could EASILY be their most watched show.  Which is why I doubt it's going to last.  CW only has one show, ONE SHOW, that appeals to both men and women, 'Arrow'.  Everything else on that network seems geared towards a demographic of those who know how to orally please men.  Which is why I fear their version of "WLIIA" could become just filler as other shows fail and between seasons of "America's Next Top Model".  Honestly, it baffles me as to why, of all stations, it went to CW.  Could CW be looking to expand to more than a demographic that is teenage girls?

He snipped around my tezzies and around my pubic hair.
And for that job I'm very grateful, yes I do give thanks,

God, what a filthy bastard Slattery is.  Would love to see him as a regular on QI.

I think the early Curb Your Enthusiasm's were more improvisation than WLITA.  While amusing, selling it as true improv is a stretch.  Between the editing, the scripts and the rehearsals is not improv it all.
