Can she:

   A)  Guarantee she has no STD's? (Can I?)

   B)  ensure me that If she becomes pregnant and I want nothing to do with a child, emotionally or financially am I off the hook completely?

Promise me that and we'll talk about giving her complete and total control over her fertility.  Until then.  Nope, not happening without a condom.

The new "Get Britain Fertile" campaign is considered more likely to be successful than last year's "f**k you, pommies" campaign.

Oh FFS.

You have the right to control your fertility.  He has the right to control his.  If you two disagree on it, maybe you should seek out other partners, or work it out some way other than requiring someone to do something they don't want.

Seriously, if you want a baby that bad, then start by signing a legal agreement that the man you're treating like a sperm donor won't be saddled for 18 years with paying for a kid he hardly sees and didn't want in the first place.

Better yet, go to a sperm bank and get a real donor.

Did anyone actually read the article? Because the headline is a gross misrepresentation. It simply says that telling women to get pregnant younger ignores the fact that the decision doesn't belong only to the woman -- it requires two people to make a baby.

Um, so you only dated selfish jerks.
Could you explain to me what was the one common thing to all your relationships?
Oh yes, the correct answer was YOU.

Indeed, GBF is accompanied by a survey, stating that many women aged 18-46 are concerned about practicalities: ranging from loss of earnings and workplace inflexibility, to childcare costs and housing. All crucial issues, but for the purpose of this article, let's look at the third of women who say they want children but haven't yet found the right partner.

In my opinion that one-third is an underestimate.

Translation: I reject this survey based on these feels that I pulled out of my ass.

The new "Get Britain Fertile" campaign...

Wouldn't this basically be a "Get white people fertile" campaign, which applies everywhere?
I'm part of the problem, but some crappy campaign like this wouldn't convince me that this planet needs more people.

Author of TFA takes half TFA to get to her real point: many women waste their prime birthing years with guys who don't want to have kids. This is the guys' fault because they never mentioned they didn't want kids or pretended they did only to eventually refuse. If this is really the case, I can kind of understand, though really if you are in a years-long relationship with someone and having kids is important to you, you should have had a real conversation about the matter.

...to make British women aware of the decline in fertility by their 30s and 40s.

Because Brit gals are currently blissfully unaware of this fact of life?

You have got to be shiatting me.

I'm a guy and I sometimes go almost deaf just standing near a group of women in their 30s and 40s because their biological time clocks are ticking down so loudly.

I keed but seriously this is not something women need to be reminded of with billboards.

Besides the whole thing smacks of that whole "World needs moar White Christian Babies Quiverful" movement thingy with all it's implied xenophobia, racism and notions of being in a breeding war.

Win/Win in my opinion.

Sexual intercourse: 1 day.

9 months: 270 days.

I'm okay with women getting to decide if they have a baby or no if women are okay with having 99.63% financial responsibility for the baby. I'll kick in less than a penny on the dollar and buy the tot a toy on christmas and birthdays.

Its even worse than that, in the line after you quoted:

Even not finding the right man often turns out to be a euphemism for: "I met him, I spent years with him, but ultimately, he wouldn't have children."

So the author both A) dismisses the survey results in favor of believing their own preferred reality, then changes the results from "dateless loser" to "selfish bastard life-partner won't knock me up".

There are so many stretches here the author should audition for the role of Reed Richards.

I wish there was a law to show people the most populated (and decrepit) parts of India or Brazil before they decide to have more than 2 kids. I can appreciate the hilarity of breeding baby soldiers for the sake of fighting in God's upcoming war (Why does the Lord of Creation and Master of Space and Time need soldiers...), but the reality of the situation is that everyone loses here on Earth. White people are awesome, but so is not suffering and dying due to a lack of resources.

/Yeah, I know the replacement rate needs to be something like 2.4 to sustain numbers, but we can worry about that when the numbers start to go down

One of my last GFs said to me when we started dating "You have a year to decide you want to get married. After that you're out." About a year later she started bringing bridal magazines home. I said "I'm out."

The sex was some of the hottest I've ever had, though. So there's that.

you should have told her you wanted to get married.  Then found excuses to delay the actual marriage... and then dump her the day of.  Or at the last possible moment anyway.

I'd encourage it.  Not all women are cheating whores but most are... so if you do that, you have a high probability of being on the ethically just side.

These women desperate to form babbies but can't find the right guy to be daddy should just learn to get down with the bearded clam, pair off, and find themselves a sperm donor. Either that or find out what the dudes who want to have a life long pain in the ass are looking for in a spouse. I have no idea what that is, as I have no desire for marriage or children.
