The helicopters were following me today. No really, I have video.

I feel that same video would've ended 10 minutes sooner with a tazing had it happened in the US.

THIRTY SIX minute video?  Is there a place you want me to jump to to see something subby?  Because believe it or not I have other things to do today.

You sat through that? Thanks for taking one for the team.  Seems like  douche who knew there would be extra security and purposely set out to provoke said extra security.

I skipped through a bunch of the video. He wasn't really being a douche per se, but I get the distinct feeling that this wasn't the first time he's run into a scenario like that.

He does make a valid point though. You're under no legal obligation to speak to or identify yourself to the police unless you're doing a regulated activity (driving, drinking) or suspected of having committed a crime (both at once).

He should consider himself lucky that there wasn't a mall cop around.
And buggy whips made them drive on the wrong side of the road? Okay, I'll accept that, but can he explain the food?

It's 36 minutes long. 36 f*cking minutes. How much time do you actually spend watching sh*t like this subby? Is your life that completely useless?

then towards the end it's trying to force some kind of self incrimination.

Oh that's right, this video was made in England.

Listening to polite British people argue is almost relaxing.

For those who can't stomach 36 minutes (I jumped around), he walks on a public path in a private golf course, get harassed by security because of a political event there in a month, gets followed by not-so-stealth security guy in car, gets followed by helicopter, walks outside golf course, gets stopped by police...

There was an interesting tidbit where random, crazy, awesome dude tries to come to our protagonist's rescue and starts yelling at the police about how they killed his wife.

It's pretty much like what happens here in America but without the tazing and video theft, as someone above mentioned.

What's his Fark Handel and how frequently does he post in the politics tab

It's actually worth watching the latter part starting around 22:00 or so.  It's a great example of how police officers will abuse peoples' rights if they don't stand up for themselves, and even sometimes when they do.

2013-05-19 05:21:49 PM
Kudos for the guy standing up for his rights.  Just keep in mind that the laws aren't the same everywhere.  My understanding is that many states back here in the US have stop and identify laws where the police CAN arrest you for not providing ID or giving your name.

Over here, they have to arrest you first. You don't have to give them shiat otherwise.

Yeah, if you don't want to watch the whole thing, start from the 22 minute mark, and listen to the conversation he has with the police.

It's commendable though how he kept his calm, and stuck to his point. And I think the police officers acted rather well too, because they obviously were sent in to check up on him by someone else... The whole thing could have escalated very quickly, but it didn't. Once he started talking about the estate with the police, I think he was in the clear.

That was pretty stupid. However, it ends at what is potentially the best part of the film. Where the video of him having a cup of coffee with Alfred?! Alfred was farking awesome!

I thought it was pretty good, but you're right that he missed a journalistic opportunity with Alfred. The guy said the hospital had just killed his wife and others. I want to hear that story. There was a lot of talk in the U.S. about how great England's health system is. Alfred clearly has a different story to tell and I'd be interesting to hear it.

No one would even see the video. There would just be a story in the news about a man committing suicide by clubbing himself to death.

It's not an uncommon story.  England's NHS (National Health Services) is notorious for a disproportionately high mortality rate on preventable diseases at many of their hospitals.  Both of my cousin's parents, who were only in their 50's, died waiting to have known and diagnosed illnesses treated.  These illnesses are not typically fatal when diagnosed early, which they were, in their case.  They needlessly died.  He wound up expatriating and his sentiments on the country are "fark ENGLAND".   The NHS isn't as rosy as progressives make it out to be.  Sadly though, it's probably still marginally better than the crazy racket we have over here.

Sorry, I was reading your "agreement" as sarcasm. In either case, I don't agree with your take on it.

I liked this exchange:

"Does this have anything to do with what's going on here in a couple weeks?"
"What's going on here in a couple weeks?"
"Exactly."
