Primitive Screwhead: reillan: Did they get the belly gunner out in time?No and the cartoon wheels didn't hold either.--------Give me a Ham on five, hold the Mayo.
Warthog: Also, getting a Dash 8 to sit level on a round fuselage without balancing on an engine / prop seems like hard core piloting to me.Healthy Dash 8:[i.imgur.com image 640x448]The plane stopped without wheels:[farm3.staticflickr.com image 800x597]
houstondragon: Stuck on the Tarmac in ATL due to lightning storms before we can disembark, so getting a kick.../Stewardess? I speak Jive!
Eutychus: How many aircraft have an entire Wikipedia page all their own devoted to landing gear incidents?
Xcott: It's US Air. Maybe the landing gear is managed by their famously reliable computer system.
ReluctantPaladin: Eutychus: How many aircraft have an entire Wikipedia page all their own devoted to landing gear incidents?*sigh*If you bothered to peruse your own linki you'd have noticed a couple of things.
strangeluck: TFA says the plane has minimal damage, how is that possible?Even if the pilot did one hell of a landing job, he's still landing on the belly. Wouldn't that tear up the underside in a considerable way?
Charlie Freak: strangeluck: TFA says the plane has minimal damage, how is that possible?Even if the pilot did one hell of a landing job, he's still landing on the belly. Wouldn't that tear up the underside in a considerable way?Not necessarily. It will have to be inspected and likely have any ventral equipment replaced. As long as the fuselage structure and pressure bulkheads are intact, it will be good to go soon.
Kryler: I like it when they spray foam on the landing strip
LonMead: Johnny, what can you make of this?
reillan: Did they get the belly gunner out in time?
heavymetal: That is what happens when you come in too low over Macho Grande.
MountainClimber: How much time does a flight from Philadelphia to Newark, about 90 miles, save you anyways? I mean by the time it takes to get to the airport (transportation?), go though TSA bullshiat, board, the actual flight time, landing procedures, disembark, retrieve any kind of baggage then deal with transportation to your final destination.
