Dig the label text.

"A logical choice for a palate pleasing libation.  Vulcan Ale is an Irish Red style ale brewed to celebrate Vulcan Alberta's 2013 centennial celebrations.  Mind-Melding Good!"

Irish red is a tough style, so good luck!

They'll sub it out to a commercial brewer.  The quality of the ale is not what's being sold here.

So they remembered to hyphenate mind-melding but figured, "aw, fark it" for palate pleasing?

Yes and no (I'm a beer snob so YMMV). On the whole it tastes like an average mass produced American lager.

About the only thing is has going for it is that it's blue.

> I would point out that grammatically it should be "Mind meldingLY good" but this is from the show that uses a split infinitive in its opening monologue ("to boldly go" rather than "to go boldly" where no man has gone before).

Alright, which one of you left this in the comments section?

I tried it at Beerfest this year. It's decent. Nothing incredible, but decent enough.

Befitting its named after a planet that was destroyed by the new generation of fans adding some red to it.  Don't worry though, I'm sure its got some flare to it.

From Star Trek V:

McCOY Whiskey. Tennessee whiskey, Spock. You care for a little snort?

KIRK Bourbon and beans, an explosive combination. (McCoy laughs) Think Spock can handle it?

McCOY Are you kidding? With that Vulcan metabolism, he could eat a bowl of termites and it wouldn't bother him.

As a home brewer I gotta say, no it really isn't a "tough" style. Try making any triple decoration German brew and get back to us.

This is true. Even a simple 10% Viuking skull-splitter uber-bock can be tricky.

/and yet I've done it!
