How did they catch the thief with their greasy hands?

I was hoping for lots of victim-on-robber violence. Leaving disappointed.

Kind of a stupid target to start with.  I don't imagine that a lot of people are buying tires with cash.

It doesn't even need to be a question.  "If you didn't want to go to jail you shouldn't have tried to rob us."

I was thinking the same thing but Norcross is one of those towns whose (who's?) general population might 1) have trouble obtaining credit cards or 2) prefer to be paid in cash.

First of all: targeting a shop full of guys with tire irons?  They're not called "tire busters" for nothing.

Second of all: can someone buy these tire busters some remedial English classes?

Wish a tire iron had come into play at some point.

Yeah.  You kind of want to think twice before robbing people who swing wrenches for a living.

How many languages do you speak fluently and in the local vernacular? I'm guessing these guys aren't English only. I give them credit for learning English at all. Here in LA,CA the natives don't always have that skill. Makes life a pain in the ass sometimes.

no no no subby. This cannot be right. The liberals have assured me that crooks don't choose victims based on their ability to defend themselves and being able to fight back does not decrease your chances of being a victim.

Yeah, try paying one of those many Asian "massage" parlors in Norcross with a credit card.

Not that I have tried.

If you watch the video, it's primarily a used tire shop.  Most of their customers are going to be cash.

Also, subby, changing car tires isn't really what I'd consider 'heavy labor.'

Three guys once scaled the fence at a ship bunkering client of mine... The night watchman just called down to the dormitory and a half dozen big longshoremen came charging out with implements of destruction. One of the thieves panicked so badly he tried to climb over razor wire... That didn't go well.

sounds like a used tire place. Generally, those customers pay cash. Interesting that my town isn't the only place where the used tire shops are owned by people from the middle east.

As a Floridian I have to ask, what is it with Gwinnett county? It's like the Florida of everything that isn't actually Florida. Something in the water? Something in the air? Are they buying up everyone else's stupid in bulk? Just WTF?

My last set of tires were used. Lady at the counter spoke English. All four of the guys in the shop area spoke only Spanish. it was a cash only business.

CSB:
Got 4 Bridgestones that looked like new, along with mounting and balancing, plus a 4-wheel alignment for $160. They've got 12,000 additional miles on them and they still have tons of tread.

The reason is simple.  There are lots of Floridian emigrants in Gwinnett.  At least that's my take since it seems as though every other car in that county has a Florida tag.

Another CSB time.  When my dad was working for Penske automotive (formerly K-Mart, now Sears) there were guys that just walked into the shop and started rolling tires out the door.  The employees instructions were to just call the police and not do anything to hinder them.  That's exactly what they did.  They just let them keep rolling tires out the door, and they took off before the cops got there.

For better or worse, those are the SOP for incidents such as that.  Deviation from them typically results in termination of employment.

Wrong. Don't think of it as a large tire place like NTB or Goodyear. There are small garages that sell used tires and make their money off of installing tires and plugging leaks. Many of them only take cash.

It requires a lot more physical force than the average criminal who doesn't want to work for a living is capable of mustering, at least from what I saw while delivering car parts for a year. I would have picked even the fat kid from one shop over your typical meth-money-seeking scumbag.

It is in Georgia where every other purchase is a set of  Bigfoot Mudgripper  tires.

The local tire shop employs little short Mexicans that speak no English. I suspect that the only criteria is they are willing to work cheaply.
