Public Enemy was about "Social Injustice?" None of those idiots even completed high school so what makes them qualified to discuss the matter? Public Enemy was ghetto trash who appealed to airhead white wusses--and half that band is dead now. I'm sure the white boys on this site think it's really intelligent and that Tupac and Big E Smalls got murdered over absolutely nothing, and that virtually every other rapper has been arrested for murder, attempted murder, or other charges! How hip! How down! They be so intelligent!

So Now rappers are talking about ass and money and bling bling. Ooooh smaaaarrrt.

"Come Armageddon!"

2004-01-01 08:55:27 PM
Pwned?

2004-01-01 08:55:38 PM
Pretty much anything derived from hip-hop culture, once it reaches mainstream white culture, is played out to the point of being ridiculously irritating. When Fran Drescher starts doing it in those damned Old Navy commercials, it's officially time to put it to rest.

Fellini8.5

It looks like "killin' kittens" is still acceptable.

It is not only acceptable, I believe it is mandatory.

WTF?

2004-01-01 08:56:06 PM
are you kidding, m-16sux0rz??? Fark liberals are one of my favorite play toys!!! they're fun to watch as they wind themselves up, spin around around in circles and then go crashing into the wall.

They're completely harmless but funny as hell!

Cripes,I got cut off... I meant to say when people say "word",I'm thinking,"Yes,what word. Do you have a particular "word" in mind?"

Ms Information: "Shadiggy" sounds like a cool multi-purpose exclamation. Nice one.

2004-01-01 08:57:46 PM

"Yo, did y'all check me when that hottie was all up in my Kool-Aid? Yeah, I was looking to break off a little somethin' somethin' but my crew gave me the 411 on that skank and she's all about the bling-bling."

Maybe you didn't notice the little smiley face-thingy I put on the end.

say what you will, and you ARE right about the
collective IQ of PE, but alot of what they had
to say was unheard outside the ghetto before
they said it.

tupac, biggie et al, well whatever.

didn't listen to them, didn't care when they died.
well maybe tupac, but only because he was
in Digital Underground....

"back in the day" which often means last week....

/getting old

m-16sux0rz, I have no farking clue what it's all about but it struck me as humorous. I'm as clueless as to the technicalities of it as you are.

Hey I thought PE was hilarious--but then again I lived in a mostly black nieghborhood for years. What was even more hilarious is how aging white hippie dweebs thought PE was saying something relevent or intelligent. If white people made records that idiotic they'd be laughed out of the biz.

word.

2004-01-01 09:04:43 PM
It just doesn't make sense. A normal-sized dick would never fit in a normal-sized ear.
/I'm thinking about this too much...

2004-01-01 09:05:28 PM
HMmmm!!!!

A word about "Shadiggy":

I came up with that word about 4 years ago. I've got witnesses. But somebody has obviously registered the domain name so I guess it's their's now.

Fine. I'm happy no one's using it then!

:P

2004-01-01 09:05:48 PM
And let's not forget:

I, for one, welcome our tired old overused joke overlords.

2004-01-01 09:06:15 PM
Oh wait. White people did make music that idiotic. There's Justin Timberlake and Britney, and all those other dull, over-produced supposed-to-be hip hop crackers.

Never mind.

alright, that's too damn funny.
i yield.

for the record, i'm no aging hippie.
a leftover dallas area punk from the 80's.

i liked em better than any of the other
rap groups.

2004-01-01 09:07:46 PM
"anyways"

Oh hell..I have a bunch of this crap on my peeves page: http://www2.potsdam.edu/prescor/peeves.htm

2004-01-01 09:07:54 PM
Like, there are, like, words that are bad, and there are ways of, like, talking and stuff, that are even more annoying. My friend was, like, "Oh you know it!" and I was all, "And there ya go" and then she was, like, "Oh yeah!"

Stop it.

I liked them better than the others too. It's my secret shame.

Hey--rent the movie "Fear of a Black Hat" it's farkin hilarious. It's Spinal Tap for rappers

2004-01-01 09:10:53 PM
LOL that was so bling-bling an article.

I think it would catch on if you cranked it up to "shadiggity".

2004-01-01 09:11:28 PM
This isn't a language issue so much as a pop culture thing, but could someone tell me why Law & Order is on so much? That goes for the other cop shows with twenty different derivitive titles. Why is everyone on television either a cop/detective, a lawyer, or a doctor? That bothers me.

tell ya what, next texas fark party
i will buy ya a beer.

2004-01-01 09:12:59 PM
I hate when rappers put that annoying "uh uh uh uh" in gaps in the music--as if they couldn't think of anything else to throw in there. I can only pray that an asteroid strike is on the imminent horizon.

2004-01-01 09:13:16 PM
I despise the term 'pre-order." It's redundant and very annoying. The word "order" is sufficient.

2004-01-01 09:13:49 PM
you forgot-

'throw your hands up, come on come on'

2004-01-01 09:14:00 PM
I never go to Fark parties because I'm afraid there will be sexual deviants there.

2004-01-01 09:14:48 PM
bwa-ha-ha-ha

2004-01-01 09:15:11 PM
Nooo--It's "throw yo hands in the air and wave 'em like you just don't care!" That chit was old in the 70's!

2004-01-01 09:16:34 PM
too true.

i swear i've seen a webpage with a
write-your-own rap song engine somewhere.
*every* cliche rap has become was there.
i laughed, i cried, i clicked thru....

IRREGARDLESS
This particular misuse of a word has long been my pet peeve.

2004-01-01 09:17:45 PM
Dorp the farkin "code words" of correctness like "hate crime", "mean-spirited" etc. I think the word "racist" is way overused too. Let's be a bit more considered in our rush to label people just because we don't totally agree (or understand) each other's current thoughts and positions.

Also remove the apparent social cache associated with the word "queer" (an ugly expression, almost as repugnant a the "n" word).

Also drop the newly codex being contrived to justify the rampant illegal alien influx to our country. They are illegal aliens, not illegal immigrants, undocumented immigrants or undocumented workers.

Happy New Year to all you FARKERS!

stupid charter cable lag.....

Agreed, the rap you see on MTV/Muchmusic is anti-intellectual, misogynistic, materialistic crap.

I'm curious how you feel about rappers/artists like Del tha Funkee Homosapien, De La Soul, Prince Paul, etc that express a more socially conscious view and/or just having fun view with their music?

2004-01-01 09:18:02 PM
Now moving on to phony, psuedo intellectual liberal types, since I've trashed negroes and half nude teeny bopper pop stars-- I get absolutely homicidal when I hear intellectuals say "you're painting (insert group here) with a broad brush."
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

2004-01-01 09:18:31 PM
Y'know, I'd rather be called an asshole than a neo-con. Asshole. Has a nice ring to it.

2004-01-01 09:19:37 PM
calibam I love the l33t translation of the debate.

One thing I like about Fark is that there is surprisingly little serious chat speak or even emoticon use around here. I can only assume it's because grade schools filter Fark.

2004-01-01 09:20:03 PM
I have prayed and prayed year after year that the word 'fantastic' would finally go out of style. It still hasn't happened. LET'S MAKE THIS HAPPEN, FOLKS.

2004-01-01 09:21:18 PM
del tha, and de la soul i love.
also the first digable planets cd. (sp?)
'where i'm from' is one great frakin song.
prince paul, never heard him.

2004-01-01 09:21:47 PM
Honestly I really hate rap. The whole IN YO FACE, bragging-like an-idiot thing works my every last nueron. It's just time for a frikkin change man. Pop music is in the worst, most drek-filled lurch since the late 70's. Something new will come along soon.

2004-01-01 09:21:52 PM
Weisenheimer: agreed. At least you don't have to stomach the phoney and thinly-veiled contempt of said name caller, hiding behind nicey-nice platitudes and slurs of slogans.
