When I say that there should be a standardized national curriculum that all schools much teach, I get jeered because there's no way a single standardized national curriculum could possibly be as relevant to the educational requirements of students as one dreamed up by local school boards.

You want to teach Creationism? Then you must also teach science and at least 75% of your students must pass the basic science skill requirements established by the national curriculum. If not, you get your accreditation pulled and you will not be anything more than a day care center.

Don't worry, a financially unsound institution will remain unsound even if it gets a once-only cash injection.

Well this will be fun. These donations and maybe a slight bump in enrollment will keep the school solvent another year, maybe. Then they're going to be back facing the same problem, and what will the solution be? More and derpier tests of course.

They won't be able to count on it going viral on it's own again, so they'll be creating sock puppet accounts and submitting them to Reddit themselves. It'll make the front page based on "Look who's back!" novelty, and another round of funding will come in, but less this time. More tests are devised...perhaps now Jesus actually returned from Heaven briefly in 1945 to personally defeat Hitler in one-on-one combat, or "washing machine" is now somehow an anagram for "Satan's machinations" and this is the reason society has fallen into the pits of hell. Eventually they'll just be submitting these test press-release style to the AP, hoping they will get some traction in the media.

But then he quickly reverted to fundy derp when he said the wife of a cheating husband should just be glad she's married, and that it's her fault the home wasn't nice enough to keep the hubby from cheating.

who can say what's actually going on? They clearly have no problem lying to little kids, maybe they're lying about being "oh the verge" of closing or maybe they're lying about all the donations in order to try to separate more rubes from their dollars.

Who knows what's actually happening when these so-called "christians" feel like they can lie with impunity so long as it benefits them.

Ironically, my in-laws had to pull her kid from a West Coast daycare when it turned out the gal running it was basically Church Lady from the SNL skits...and, yes, she was preaching to the kiddies.

Wouldn't have been so bad, except the same year, they found out their pediatrician was ALSO a bible thumper, who just couldn't keep it to himself, AND started in on the anti-vax BS.

Looks like California isn't as godless/atheist as the fundies say...

A more complete analysis might be: while, in this particular instance Pat Robertson is correct, he remains overall a morally bankrupt subhuman tub of weapons grade farkwittage that the world would be better off without.

I've seen signs that Robertson has a not insignificant streak of rationality, but that he's a product of his time and environment.  He also shows some signs of senility, but hey.  He's gettin' old.
