meh. he invented bullies.

2013-05-17 08:53:04 AM
Those first 4 years at Sirius were great. He should have limped through the last year of the contract without Artie and hung it up.

2013-05-17 09:18:50 AM
are you sure he said "against"?

I don't see how getting the bully's mom to take her top off will fix the problem.

Well the, you're PART of the problem.

I agree.  Listening to him drone on about how tired he is and how horrible Sirius treats him is a carbon copy of his last few years on terrestrial radio.

2013-05-17 09:52:43 AM
That's bold! He's really putting himself out there. Net thing you know, he'll say he's against suicide or racism.

Too damn many interviews is more like it.

6 interviews in a 3 day week? And Monday was wall-to-wall interviews?

I don't see why the 101 shows were canceled so the guys could work on the main show when the main show is now just "Howard talks about AGT, then does a half-hearted interview for an hour and a half and goes home".

2013-05-17 10:24:04 AM
Yeah, seriously.  You wouldn't think it was possible to have an arrogant, self-involved, brow-beating slag of a media personality used to ruling his fiefdom of radio hangers-on, but it was that guy.  He wasn't a bully, but having him jump on the 'I'm against bullying' bandwagon for relevance is kind of sad.

The anti-Stern hysteria from a handful of people *is* pretty creepy. Go to YouTube and watch any brief clip and you'll see the same people posting creepy stuff about his wife and daughters.

I really don't care if people like him personally or not, but I do hope he mimics that English boxer and does something with the information he acquires on the stalkers.

In a related story, Captain Jenks just started a charity championing human dignity.

If by "go to war" you mean who can be the biggest dick while not crossing the line into illegal actions, sure.

These lame "wars" people wage only cause them more embarrassment, and often, the eyes of the law. See: Amy's Baking Company.

The interviews this week were great. ZZ Top, Rod Stewart, Roger Daltrey, and even that comedian Rob Cordry was interesting.

That said, now it's time for him to take another 2 week vacation.

3 day weeks and all his time off, He's definitely mailing it in lately.

Still it's worth listening just for the Sal and Richard prank calls and Eric the Midget/Actor.

Used to love the guy, about 2004 or so he really became un-listenable. Supposed anti-politician Libertartian guy became a shill for John Kerry at the behest of the CBS president.

I don't mind people bullying him or his family. Also, I just discovered:

Zoo Za Zoo by Emily Stern.

Holy Crap, that makes Popozao sound like Beethoven's 9th.

I still listen, but you can tell he's mailing it in. He's never there anymore. I also want to hear more Angry Alice, Elliot Offen, Eric and Johnny, have him at least talk to Artie on air and lots more Riley. Aside from the interviews, the show is entirely too formulaic now. Hell, even more "gay stunts" from Sal and Richard are welcome at this point.
/Richard drinking beer in his ass was funny, but over way too quickly.

one thing i didn't care for on the cable tv version was that he'd have some porn star on and badger her for 30 minutes to take her clothes off. problem was, when they finally complied, the huge blur bar would appear, and you'd see less than when they were wearing whatever skimpy thing.

Howard should send Gary the Retard to the opening of ABC in Arizona. That would be entertainment!

Yeah they are. Stern is too much of a self absorbed d bag for me to enjoy, while O&A tend to have on a bunch of great comics and they actually let them talk. I found out about guys like Louis CK and Bill Burr from O&A, all Stern gave us was Artie Lange.

Pretty much this. I still listen to Howard but I listen to O&A first.

Behind the scenes, mostly.

New, family friendly AGT Howard has cut down on gay hijinks and everything but interviews.

I still listen daily, however he has changed drastically since his move to Sirius. He became what he made fun of and I think that is where the hostility comes from. His fans want the 1990's Howard and not the current one.

2013-05-17 05:16:41 PM
I steadily listened less and less as he became a bigger and bigger hypocrite and liar.  I haven't listened in probably over two years but the article doesn't surprise me.  It is much the same thing he did to Imus. I still remember the last straw for me.  I was listening and Howard was talking about when he met Beth and he said something to the effect of "Beth didn't know who I was".  It was an attempt by Howard to make it seem Beth was attracted to him not because of his celebrity and money.  Anyway, it was a flat out lie as Beth had mentioned on the show that when she first met him she couldn't wait to tell her brothers because she knew they were such big fans.  Plus who can forget Howard trashing guys like Larry King, Imus etc for marrying trophy wives and then he turns around and does it.  He changed when he got divorced.  He was this married homebody and then became this jackoff hanging out with celebrities and dressing like a douche

Agree 100%.

It's like the rappers, LL Cool J, Ice-T, Ice Cube....all about bangin' chicks, being thuggish, and "cop killaz" (with the exception of LL), then they change their tune when fame and money calls.

Bring Artie back, Howard! Your show is awesome but would be better with that fat fark back on board.

O&A's formula is great, but the two big problems are O&A. They're just obnoxious and unlikeable. Norton and Patrice were always better.

aww how cute, it's a little fanboy for the show that does nothing but reruns.

Opie and Anthony are "way better" period and it took a d-bag like you to bring up the subject first huh?  in before the "butthurt howard" fanboys.

Patrice isn't nearly as funny as he used to be.

Well I don't have satellite radio so the only exposure to both shows has been through Youtube. I used to listen to both when they were on terrestrial radio and I've always preferred O&A. Can't say I've heard Stern or O&A's most recent (aka 2012/13) stuff so you might be spot on. Both do seem to be going through the motions at this point.

Well Opie was never that funny but he is actually likable while Anthony is pretty funny but is quite obnoxious. Like I said earlier, the comedians they have on the show are the reason I always liked them. It truly sucks that Patrice is gone, he's another comic (Norton as well) that I discovered through the show.

LOL. No they aren't. They just have awesome comedians carrying their show for them. Did they lose Louis CK? Because he was just on Stern. Stern is the same though. He isn't the funny one, his cohorts and guests are. He has just had better content and more relevance (although, he's personally sooo out of the contemporary loop) than O&A. I've never heard the mainstream media mention or cite an O&A interview. I have heard them cite or mention Stern at least once every 2 months. Prove me wrong though. Let me know of a story O&A broke.

Your point? Louis CK is a pretty busy guy, do you expect him to do as many O&A shows as he used to when he was only doing stand up?

My point is that lots of people ONLY do the Stern show or the O&A show. They make it exclusive. That seems a bit silly to me. Why not do both? You seem to disagree.
