I am so glad the Bengals have invested time and money on this intelligent, wise, upstanding citizen.

Strange? He makes millions, and spends a fraction of that to take care of his only real asset -- his body. Seems pretty smart to me.

Enjoy your fast food career after you're out of football.

That is chump change in comparison to his weekly boom head shot fines.

When this story was on NFL Live the other day, the guys at the news desk tore him apart. Schlereth was laughing at the stupidity of it.

Did you read what he spends it on?

Top athletes do pay top money for certain things that helps them keep at top shape.  They also tend to spend a lot of money on junk that does nothing for them.

Imagine a person in a grocery store checking egg cartons. Rather than checking to make sure the eggs are intact, this person seeks out the ones with broken eggs inside, in the hopes that the grocers will allow him to talk them down on the price at the checkout. This is how Mike Brown runs the Bengals.

It wouldn't be unreasonable to say that I spend anywhere between $400,000 to $600,000 on body work, as far as taking care of my body, year-in and year-out."

Just what does one spend that kind of dough on? Harrison, 35, was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers in March, said he uses a hyperbaric chamber as well as a whole army of acupuncturists, massage therapists and homeopathic doctors that he'll bring from Pittsburgh, where played for nine seasons, to Cincinnati.

Yeah ok...

Rocky ran through snow in Siberia, lifted rocks in  wooden carts, he did pull ups in an old barn and he beat the Russian who had all the conveniences of modern science!

So I really don't care to read what he spends it on.

Rocky also ended up brain dead.

But yet he can't spend $500 on a dog trainer for his pit bulls.

Honestly, I can't dislike this guy any more.

Plastic surgery.

He is an idiot for spending that on placebos (acupuncture, hyperbaric chamber and homeopathy "doctors")

Judging by the shape of his enormous Barry Bond skull it looks like he spent it all on HGH.

I always thought acupuncture would help tight muscles expedite healing similar to trigger point injections (given those are performed by real doctors).

But yeah, shouldn't cost that much. Maybe a power of ten less or so

If i was a NFL star, I would go to a real doctor for that. From what I've read, acupuncture is basically a placebo.

Assuming he isn't really spending that on hgh, that is..

I think physical therapists provide the treatment now. They mainly do trigger point massages though which no one wants cause they feel pretty bad.

I don't know why you think everybody does hgh, but I feel like that would be a drop in the bucket money wise compared to what he's shelling out.

This fine Job Creator is just making sure masseuses remain employed.

Well, there is a reason guys are bigger, stronger and faster than ever (by a large margin) and it certainly isn't due to only better exercise and nutritional science. I highly doubt AD went from ACL/MCL tear to playing in the NFL and nearly setting a rushing record in 9 months naturally.

And HGH isn't cheap from what I hear. Pro bodybuilders spend about 30-50k annually on it. Then again, they take more than anyone too.

Unless he files for a tax rebate as work expenditures, then he should STFU.

James Harrison is smaller than the average NFL linebacker in both height and weight.  I dunno why people always describe him as some sort of titan.

yeah I think the reference from 2006 is supposed to be relevant to 2013 somehow but since I don't watch tv any longer it could be that I'm just out of the current pop culture loop and therefore do not get the reference either.
