Today's debate topic:  Is it really a free world if one has to pay for it?

Is it really a national championship if there are multiple available?

If funds are that tight, pick the most important and go to that one.  If you win, declare yourself the winner of the others.  If you lose, make up your own championship and declare yourself national champions of that.  It works for Alabama football.

Subby will have to make a very convincing argument to get any donations from me. The save the free world rhetoric just doesn't do it.

Is it Lincoln-Douglas or Policy?

Because, I hate Policy...stupid fast talkers with their facts but no real debate.

Let's see what you're made of.  Out yourself and defend a minimum of two conservative positions in the politics tab first.  If you can do that for a couple days straight without succumbing to the mountain of libderp that will surely rain down on you, I'll consider making a donation.

They failed to make a compelling argument for my money.

Don't they sell candy bars and sandwiches for this kinda stuff?

@YesPlease: Interesting idea! Ironically, the June national championship tournament is in Alabama ...
@JJWars & @Hogans: The detailed commentary on the GoFundMe page wasn't compelling enough? Sad face! :(
@Cookbooks: TOC was Congress and Public Forum Debate; CatNats was Duo Interp, Public Forum Debate and Lincoln Douglas. NFLs is Congress, Duo and Policy (but the Policy team is comprised of two LDers, if that helps).
@AllYourFark: I  have to defend myself against comments from all political positions in the classroom on a regular basis, since debaters need to be able to back up contentions on multiple political topics and issues from a plethora of viewpoints. I'll see what i can do about "outing myself" though ...
@Umfufu: The profit on candy bar sales is minimal (if I buy an assorted 18-pack for $12 and sell them for $1 each, it's only a 33% return). Clubs sell sandwiches?

In all seriousness, any assistance that can be offered would be most appreciated, and can be done anonymously online as well, if you prefer that method. We would be honored if you could donate even $10-20 to assist us in our quest. Many of my students are politically active on both sides of the political field, and will remain so after graduating high school. They have tackled a wide array of political topics pertinent locally, regionally, nationally and globally. They are articulate, intelligent, driven young adults who represent all that's good in our world, and are beacons of hope for our future.

I thank you in advance for your support!

I was just giving you shiat for Policy, but your lucid response swayed me.

Good luck to your team!

The Farkus tab is Drew's Craigslist.

You're asking Fark to support aspiring politicians? :-)

Is that what passes for debating skills these days? One line replies?

I weep for this country...
