Also, the power source (the Multi-Mission Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator or MMRTG) on Curiosity should last about 14 years, so unless it gets stuck in the sand it should surpass anything already sent.

The bigger question is when can we get these battery tech for cell phones, cancer be damned I have surfing to do.
