MagSeven: hutchkc: Vodka Zombie: Yep. After this tightly controlled "press-conference" and reopening, I imagine that psycho biatch will swipe a customer's credit card and inevitably torch the place and blame it on The Internet.

This is pretty much what I see happening.  It's only a matter of time before they torch the place claiming it was a hater.

She can't cook a pizza. You think she'll be able to burn down a whole building?

Good point, it'll be torched on the edges and water soaked in middle.

They admitted on Kitchen Nightmares that they keep the waiters' tips. Are they trying to backpedal or are they going with the, "They made us say that for the show!" angle?
You don't believe "reality" tv is scripted?

First week will be all good reviews because of the PR firm. Check back after the second week and don't forget the popcorn.

It's far, far too funny to be an SNL skit.

what do you expect when a pimp marries a prostitute/crazy cat lady and they open a restaurant together.

Just watched the episode after reading all the comments over the last day or so.

It was all the hype had said and more. When you have Gordon Ramsey, a chef with twelve Michelin stars, being filmed for a show watched by millions, and you still make him wait an hour for a pizza, then you have problems. That the pizza is still undercooked after all that time is just icing on the cake.  If this is them on their best behaviour because of the cameras....

I think the couple enable each other and back each other's fantasy opinion up. I assume he does it so he carries on getting laid and she does it so he carries on funding her dream restaurant.

ohhhhh what a trainwreck that will be!

Oh, I dunno, I bet that the place will be packed with people that will order stuff just to see what will happen. You know, people will pay good money to see crazy like that, could be a business model.

ginkor: This is fair warning.  After two years of living in Arizona, some people behave like Amy Bouzaglo (Scottsdale) and Jodi Arias (Mesa).  Or that crazy vampire girl who tried to kill the guy in Tempe.

Some say it is because Indian brujos lived there a thousand years ago and imbued the rocks with batshiat crazy.  That's probably it.

DumbAmerican: I live about 10 blocks from that place. Within walking distance of Amy's there are about a dozen fantastic places to get good food. If you want good pizza I'd suggest Rosati's or Oregano's, both are just across the street. Those two idiots must have money, it is the only way I can see why they're still in business.

Did this place have a bad reputation before KN? As in, everyone kinda knew someone who knows someone that had a bad experience? Just curious.

You're not missing much at Mystic. They're OK, but the coast between New York and Boston is rife with Italians (especially Neapolitans), Portuguese, and Greeks, so there is no shortage of good pizza. Hell, drive about 45 minutes to New Haven and you can eat in three of the best pizza restaurants on the east coast (Sally's, Pepe's, and Modern).

Defeats the object of having a review site if they delete all the bad reviews.  Maybe they can't believe the sheer number of bad reviews and thing it must be trolls and haters?

Old enough to know better: TV's Vinnie: SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- It's the hottest restaurant in Scottsdale, and for the second day in a row, no one can get a table at Amy's Baking Company.

[ts4.mm.bing.net image 263x300]

Hot, which is the exact opposite of typical Amy cuisine.

This. Honestly, wtf is wrong with Scottsdale?

nothing. 'hot' is describing its popularity surge. Additionally, (i don't have the data to support this) only Vegas has more mid-high price point restaurants in as small of an area as Scottsdale

Seeing as she's 'Very Active' in the local GOP, I'm guessing she's a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment, even though she can't legally own a handgun due to her prior felony conviction.

No idea on him. Supposedly he's a badass, but I have my doubts.

Obviously there are many fake "reviews" since the show aired.
I don't understand why they don't just lock it down for awhile.

It isn't normal for someone to lay down $1 million for a restaurant, and then continue to sink money into one that doesn't appear to succeed.
That's why people create their own theories.

Some episodes break the mold where the owners are great, but the cooks and waitstaff suck but the owners are too nice to fire anyone.

On the FB "I Support ABC" page a poster linked the AZ code prohibiting employers from taking tips from their employees. Then, Not Amy started a "Tips aren't in the Constitution!" page, and deluge of posts to that affect. That thin skinned hag is hilarious - she insists she's one of many "mods" who've volunteered their support. It is comedy gold - she bites at every hook. It is the best trainwreck I've witnessed in the recent past. I wish she'd come to this thread. It could reach epic proportions.
