Oh man, I have a feeling we're going to be hearing about these two assholes until they either implode and kill themselves/each other or they end up both going to Federal PMITA Prison for money laundering.

Their servers need to band together and sue.

Amy's Baking Company will host a Grand Re-Opening on Tuesday night, May 21, following unflattering portrayals on national television.

Oh, I'm sure they'll be on their best behavior.  But somehow I doubt their best behavior will be good enough, or that they will keep up the facade for long.

God I hope there are cameras there.

At this rate they'll get a contract for a reality TV show of their own, which will be popular because people love trainwrecks and they'll get enough money to pay off all their bills.  The aristocrats.

Those idiots hired a PR firm to dump MORE money into that shiathole?  If they didn't listen to a single word Ramsey said, why would they pay for advice?

I really hope that for everyone's sake their restaurant is currently filled with internet trolls, and that they skip on the bill, leaving the owners with no real patrons and heaping helpings of schadenfreude to slurp down.

They should support an African American charity program.

Well, he thought their desserts were amazing.

Which isn't a surprise since they buy them from elsewhere and repackage as their own

Yeah I watched the show on youtube after reading yesterday's thread hoping that fact would be the big reveal at the end.

Sounds like Amy is doing quite well.  The waitress probably didn't know the correct way to "head" a table.

I was hoping the article would recap the situation.

Recap anyone?

i was pleasantly surprised that she said on the reddit chat that despite the editing and heavy use of music, pretty much everything happened as we saw it, and that it wasn't staged.

People who don't like their food (i.e. most customers) just don't know how to eat.

I'd put the odds of this at "very high."  I have no doubt the various production machines in Hollywood are already trying to get a hold of them - in fact, it may be one of the reasons they hired a PR firm.

2013-05-16 06:16:18 PM
Why will people spend money on things that they know are terrible?

I'm genuinely curious. How it should work is that these pieces of shiat go out of business and everyone just goes somewhere else to have lunch. But what actually happens is people line up to have someone from the TV box shout at them!

Good Christ, I wish I could have shame and embarrassment surgically removed so I could get rich too.

I have a feeling the place in TFA will be long gone before I can get there.

People are stupid. You make a place known for sucking and you get a line around the block.

I hate stupid people.

I sincerely hope these excuses for people don't actually become successful as a result of their awful personalities. The deserve nothing less than national ridicule but not a single penny in income. I'd like to think we as a people know enough to laugh with our words and not our wallets.

But we as a people also made Snooki famous.

The owners will likely be holding a press conference before the Grand Re-Opening to answer falsehoods about their business depicted on a reality television show, including assertions that the restaurant confiscates tips from servers.

They admitted on Kitchen Nightmares that they keep the waiters' tips. Are they trying to backpedal or are they going with the, "They made us say that for the show!" angle?

Katy Cipriano answered a massive amount of questions there. One of the better IAmA/AMA's I've seen.  Though, be aware, there were quite a few entire threads that got deleted for some reason or another. I think moderators on Reddit got some complaints about slander or something, though I'm sure someone here has better details about what went down with that.

Yeah, since they are the ones booking the reservations. They'll probably require you to hand over Yelp login credentials to verify that you already love the place.

In fact, wait staff is paid $8-$14 per hour, two and half to nearly five times the standard hourly wage for servers."

Why does the journalist sound so defensive, or was this written by an aphasic cheerleader for their business?

I've never understood kn.  Just listen to him, do what he wants, he will buy you stuff or remodel your kitchen/dining room.  When he leaves, go back to the way you were doing before.  Hell, you might learn something too.

2013-05-16 06:20:56 PM
That's some damned fine reporting.

Introduce the interview segment by saying you have someone who "would NOT want to set foot in the restaurant again!", then wrap up the interview with her saying that she'd like to get a reservation there.

2013-05-16 06:21:15 PM
I've seen the show before, and I don't quite understand why suddenly it's amazing news that something on Kitchen Nightmares wasn't all hunky-dory.
It's an okay show, with parts staged (although not as staged this time from what I hear) with Ramsey being a host without an actual connection to the renovations and such.

Do people feel lost without mass shootings or bombings in their week?

I am sure the Arizona media will be all over that.  And someone in attendance will instigate just enough to set them off.  No one, not a PR firm, can keep those two in check.

Waitress who got fired is young, had two jobs at that time, but knows how to do stuff.
Samy is the only one allowed to use the 'point of sale' machine and he sometimes forgets to enter parts of orders.
Amy the "I am so perfect always" was already farking up which order went to what table and Waitress lightly called her on it as "are you sure?".
Shop is closed when the owners will not allow it to be open when both of them are not there.
The only nice thing about the place is the cleanliness and of course the repackaged backed goods in the glass display cabinet.
