Aw hell, I just got caught up on the thread and all I can say is .....

i415.photobucket.com

Obviously, not a very happy Caturday for a lot of people what with missing cats, sick cats, possibly homeless cats, cats not getting along....unfortunately too many for my little mind to remember to quote individually, but this goes out to all of you who may need it (with love from sherpa and dragon DRAGON and sherpa)  (why yes, i have just been put in my place again, thanks for noticing) ...

// i'm a simple drunk sherpa

To be honest, and this is just me, but I don't understand how people can drink diet pop. It tastes nasty (to me) and is not nearly as healthy for you as real sugar. Not that a lot of added sugars are GOOD for you, but natural sugars are better for your body than man-made. I am NOT trying to get on a soap-box...don't send me hate mail. I'll just shut the f**k up now. Carry on.... :D

tigerose: BBBB Sounds truely yummy. Did they use rice vinegar? It can make a big difference. Then again, our palate is not their palate! I never thought to do french toast grilled cheese sandwiches...interesting idea!

I have to make french toast wif egg whites. Whole eggs make my tummy unhappy..my grandma had teh same thing..

Both white vinegar and rice wine vinegar.  We thought about omelets with cheese, onions, and shrimp, but since she's learned that when you add seafood, you always win, she stole our thunder.  But even though it was good, the vinegar was just too overpowering.  So as long as we don't screw things up too bad tomorrow, should make it two in a row against the wife and mother.

Well, I haven't dated anyone on a serious level for about 2 years after I got out of an abusive relationship. MegaTron was affected as well. He never liked any guys I've brought home since then, but loooves flirting with girls. Anywho, I've been dating this really good guy for a long while now and a couple days ago while he was sitting on the couch, MegaTron came up and sat on his chest! I haven't seen him do that to another male hooman in years! Even though I'm really scared of commitment, I like this guy and I think I'm finally ready to be in a committed relationship. This is him letting Tron smell his hand. I'm glad Omega and I are both progressing in facing our fears.

The only animal that I dressed up was Belle. She had skin allergies in the spring and summer and would chew herself raw. After trying all kinds of medications and topical cures from the Vet, I grabbed an old shirt and put it on just to block her from scratching. It worked no more scratching or chewing and when she wanted to go out she would grab her shirt and bring it to me to put it on. The Vet thought it looked kinda funny but it worked.

revisit lilypad's Kitten in Sporran  of yesterday.  Had some Seeks needing made. which took me to find that kilt is that of
Clan Leslie. Kings Own Scottish Borders, the Royal Regiment of Scotland founded 1622, serving mbrs of which may wear trews (trousers) of this tartan.
Pipers wear Royal Stewart, the so-familiar red one.
So this really could be  Cheeky in her youth in 1973!
Also find,  cat in box thought to be Furry the Queen Mum posted by moi yesterday,
is very similar but not her.  Now to tend to my medical hdwe programming needs.

one of my all time favorite sandwiches is grilled ham and cheese with a slice of
spiced apple ring tucked in the ham, dipped in egg/milk mixture and fried like french toast.
the desert to this was vanilla ice cream with peaches and raspberry sauce.
//droooooolllllll

It was just meh.  Probably have to tweak the recipe some to include some taste in the french toast, but the theory works.  Maybe should have had a side of syrup in a small bowl, but my daughter never eats syrup, so we didn't do that.  Going to be another two weeks until we do this again, so plenty of time to get a few more ideas and run with them.

Cinnamon???  Maybe, I don't know....  Good on all for trying it though!  Sounds like a fun family thing to do!!

There was cinnamon in the batter, but it just didn't come out in the taste.  Not sure what else except maybe adding vanilla extract to the batter would help, but we'll eventually come up with something to make it better.

A touch of nutmeg makes almost anything eggy a little better. I always add some to my french toast. Maybe a dash of rum too? Brings out the eggnog flavor..

Have you tried a little bit of chilli or black pepper? Sometimes the opposite kind of hot taste brings out the flavour, like balsamic vinegar on strawberries.

The lassie's vintage photo was actually IDed right there for anyone clickie-ing on it to save.
Hardly any activity on #2 Caturday thread since afternoon. Mayhap the soggy moggy just hasn't the appeal of cats in lion-mane hats!
I must needs start transcribing the Mar-Apr women's amateur radio magazine.  Reference in the Jan-Feb to an article in Jan WorldRadioOnline re high-altitude ballooning carrying data-grabbing devices that the 2012 Amateur Radio Newsline Young Ham of the Year  does.  FIRST (acronym: For Inspiration & Recognition of Science & Technology) Robotics competitions.  Another acronym given was DREAMS, which mere Seek didn't reveal. But found a line for a place that knows! Gent with a thicker UK accent than I've heard in a while rang up here on Fri, mentioned DREAMS  & gave his phone #. So tomorrow I'll know too, & may advise my transcription client.
Also be able to get some data from my endocrinologist that I'm meant to record each time there's a change, to allow the re-program of my insulin pump. Also speak to the local tech rep, because following the manual doesn't work. Says to do things the flaming device won't allow me to do.  Only had the 1st one since Nov 2010, & am reasonably sure someone else programmed it for me then.

May also leave this on the other Caturday thread, Because I Can.

Holy crap! They're eating into your deck? Get some Raid and nuke them from orbit!
Worst problem I've had with bumblebees was when they took over an old gopher hole in the front yard. Ran over it with the mower and found my self surrounded by them, I ran, they went back in the hole and I plugged it up with dirt (and salt and Holy water and cement and nails etc...). I can handle snakes and reptiles but bees and wasps are Satan in my book. If they leave me alone, I'll leave them alone, otherwise it's kill 'em with fire.

If they're eating wood they aren't bumblebees, they're carpenter bees. The way to tell the difference is by the hair on the back end. Bumblebees have fuzzy butts, carpenter bees have hairless butts.

Oh great...now I'm going to be running around looking at bee asses!!  :D

There's other ways to tell (though not as definite) without getting so close.  Male carpenter bees "patrol" the area around their nest to protect it and try to "get with" any females in the area.  They're quite aggressive, and like to hover right in your face if you get too close (fortunately, the little male bastards can't sting, which makes it safer, if not less intimidating).  They'll also do what I can only describe as "engage in dogfights" in midair.  They'll dive bomb each other, circle a few times, and then fly off.  If you see bees doing that in an area with lots of exposed wood (like my deck) there's a very high chance that you've got a carpenter bee on your hands.  Confirm it by finding perfectly round, approximately 1/2 inch holes in the wood (seriously, I wish my drill was this good), and you can be pretty certain without having to do an ass inspection.

predle: Help, my house has become a war zone and I'm really worried that somebody is going to get hurt.  Juno was sitting on the window seat and a strange cat was on the porch.  She started making that growling/howling sound, when I went to see what was happening the other cat took off, but Juno started acting like she's never seen any of use before. She was hissing at me and howling at Lucy and Morticia. She's not hissing at me or Lucy anymore but she's making it clear that she's ready to rip either one of us to pieces if we get too close. But Morticia and Juno are still howling at each other and are on the verge of a huge fight. I have no doubt that someone, probably Juno of course, might get really hurt. I've tried treats and I can get Juno to eat one but it doesn't calm her down and Morticia won't even look at them. I really have to de escalate this before I have to leave for work or I'm afraid I'll come home to a bloody mess.  We've had problems like this before but not on this level.

I joke a lot about Juno, but as I've said here before, I really believe that her brain is not wired correctly.  I'm afraid she'll start something that Morticia will be happy to finish.

Trip has done this before.. if other cats get in a fight, he gets all freaky..growls at everybody, puffs up, gets uber defensive... I think he is insecure.. when Quiz was here, she got hung up in a plastic bag and freaked out.. I had to dive at her to catch her.. Trip freaked on that... thought I was hurting her.. sat on the floor with Quiz on my lap, getting her calmed down.. her favorite spot was on my chest with her head under my chin and paws around my neck... took about 30 minutes to get peace back in the house....Trip finally got on my lap on the couch, another 30 minutes to get him calmed down.... he likes status quo.. and reacts badly when it is disturbed.... the strange cat has disturbed Juno,s status quo.. it may have marked your house, which would upset Juno even more... she,s scared.. does she normally sit in your lap?  If so, try to get her to do some lap time with you... nothing more calming... and 'nip' may help....

I think it is called displaced aggression, that is why Fiona got swatted last night.
Can you put Juno in a "safe room" until she settles down? Give her food, water, nip and a soft blanket. She should be OK by the time you get home from work.

LOL, I did get quite close to get that picture. I wasn't worried about getting stung as bumblebees are not very aggressive, unless you are a wasp. This one was hovering there for several minutes and only moved away to chase off a wasp that was flying by. Bumblebees are my third favorite insect behind Hummingbird Moths and Praying Mantises.

Nope.  Lots of dead skin pealed off, but no blood.  Little turd has some sharp claws, and he definitely does not like being held by anyone.  Way too skittish for my tastes.

Womenfolk's version of Egg Iron Chef is done, and it was Oriental Shrimp, Rice, and eggs in a soy and white vinegar sauce.  Not too bad, but we all agreed that the vinegar was a little bit overpowering.  It's official name was Adobong Hipong Sa Gata.  Nice to see the Filipino cookbook getting some use after a few years on the shelf.  Although her homemade lumpia is still beyond awesome.

Abandoned.

Once I  knew a warm place,
A smiling face.

Now I only know disgrace.

In a dark and damp
Corner I pace.

What did I do?
I loved you.

I gave you all that I had.
I thought You were glad.

To be mine.
For all time.

Yet you left me here,
Now I only know fear.

No more heavely place,
No more safe space.

All is night,
Never right.

I sigh,
Curl tight.

Perhaps in the morning,
Sun will shine.

And I shall find,
Who is mine.

Does, or has, your new addition caused any problems with adapting???  Is everyone getting along okay???  Or are they not even in the same cage?  Maybe you said something about that, and I missed it...

No problems at all.  Sage has certainly introduced himself to her, and Rosemary uses her as a stand whenever she gets cold.  Now, if we had put another male in there, we would have had a dead beardie, but two females and a male, no problems.

tigerose: lol! It is fit that they are attracted to musical instruments! I think that the Harper Hall series is one of her best. The most recent ones, penned by her son..not so much. Too much time travel, and confusing without a durn chart!

I haven't read any of the recent ones. I stopped reading McCaffrey when she started making everything romance-centric. Pern, Acorna, Rowan/Damia. I don't know what's the point of creating fantastic universes if you're still going to center everything about main characters finding their "soul mates". (And those relationships are almost always heterosexual, as if no one else can hope for a "perfect" match...)

CDK came across this earlier this week. It is crafted/designed by female artist, Leah Piepgras.

I spent part of my day at the cemetery planting flowers for Mom,Dad and my grandparents. Also made sure that Grandpa got his British flag for Memorial Day. Grandpa had immigrated to the US prior to WWI and when England and Germany went to war he went back to England to join up before the US got involved, so I always make sure he gets his British flag, Dad gets his US flag in his submariner holder(he was always so proud of his sub service), Mom and Grandma get geraniums planted because they always said that's what you plant at the grave. I also put in some daisies and petunias cuz that's what I like, I also sprinkle in some wildflower seeds cuz Dad asked for them long before he passed away. He liked the cluttered look in his garden and wanted to make sure it carried on.

And here's a cat that my Mom always said looked evil.

Congrats!! Hey, if the cat likes them, you're solid!!! :D

Our little Tres Diablos!!!  Had to have different colored colors on them for a long time to tell them apart... now they run without collars, and we know who's who.  They're the coolest of siblings.

Vet just called.  Boots is doing much better today!  He ate last night and is much perkier today.  Vet says his kidney levels are improved too.  As long as he can pee on his own by tomorrow morning, he'll be able to come home tomorrow.

The very first pic of Boots I ever saw. This was what convinced me he needed to be MY cat.  Hope he's able to come home from the vet soon.  I miss my little attention whore.

This is my breakfast cat.
She comes in mornings, stays for some love, then gets thrown out when I go to work.
I think she lives a street or two over, so I don't knwo her "real" name.

I call her "Kahvalti" which means "breakfast"

Good Meowning! The sun is shining here, and it is supposed to get quite hot today. I should be out in the garden all ready...I think I will laze for just a while longer!

Eli wanted out this morning..I suspect his litterbox is less than clean. So he wanted to use the wildnerness instead! :)

Thanks for the Caturday advice two weeks ago, everyone.  I'm feeding Beau much smaller portions, more frequently through the day, and no barfing.  I thank you, Beau thanks you, and my carpets thank you.

And a request for homing help:  Hello I have 7 kittens that need new good awesome homes! They are about 21 days, in a couple of weeks they may be ready to go! Please re post so we can help them get adopted!

Aaaannnddd a pic of the cute little ones she's trying to find homes for:
