Sorry for being AWOL this week everbuddy, my brain is flailing all over the place, too many things to worry about and not nearly enough brain cells to go around to handle them all. :o(

Have reached ft of pg 12.  Apologise for not getting to check in this AM; didn't get to go back to Dayton, should be over by now except for the packing up & Running Away. That is, prizes should all be drawn.
Plumbicon got home ~2:45 AM. After that, no way no how was he going to fetch me to the N Cinti Assembly Point for those going today.  Ted Morris NC8V was able to get the OK to take over the club flea mkt site for today. I found out by reading an e-mail ~11PM yesterday; rang him up & he said Sure, just be there at appointed time, please e-mail me if this won't work.
Pl got home & said not only No but Heck No, as he needed return to Lodge for a showing for a renter. Also clean-up after last eve's wild party. So did that, we got home short time ago after detour for few specific grocery items.
Read here yesterday of a 2d Caturday thread this wkend. Yes there is, just below us! Noticed it at 0dark30 so typed there. It's much shorter, just 75 entries.  But had  to save this one to fetch over here:
studebaker hoch posted at 2:09:07PM yesterday,
Kitten survives 30-minute cycle in washing machine, emerges agitated, but fluffy and soft in time for Caturday and qualified to fly on Navy aircraft.
No clue who subby is.

Oh yeah, sure do hope Forrest & Flower come back to their new place they're letting maynerdkitty use! Sounds as if it's Li-lon who's acting like a monster -- a situation not to be wished at all!

Wull, furrward to pg 13, hope it's been Lucky. Discover that soon.

Holy crap! They're eating into your deck? Get some Raid and nuke them from orbit!
Worst problem I've had with bumblebees was when they took over an old gopher hole in the front yard. Ran over it with the mower and found my self surrounded by them, I ran, they went back in the hole and I plugged it up with dirt (and salt and Holy water and cement and nails etc...). I can handle snakes and reptiles but bees and wasps are Satan in my book. If they leave me alone, I'll leave them alone, otherwise it's kill 'em with fire.

If they're eating wood they aren't bumblebees, they're carpenter bees. The way to tell the difference is by the hair on the back end. Bumblebees have fuzzy butts, carpenter bees have hairless butts.

Oh great...now I'm going to be running around looking at bee asses!!  :D

There's other ways to tell (though not as definite) without getting so close.  Male carpenter bees "patrol" the area around their nest to protect it and try to "get with" any females in the area.  They're quite aggressive, and like to hover right in your face if you get too close (fortunately, the little male bastards can't sting, which makes it safer, if not less intimidating).  They'll also do what I can only describe as "engage in dogfights" in midair.  They'll dive bomb each other, circle a few times, and then fly off.  If you see bees doing that in an area with lots of exposed wood (like my deck) there's a very high chance that you've got a carpenter bee on your hands.  Confirm it by finding perfectly round, approximately 1/2 inch holes in the wood (seriously, I wish my drill was this good), and ...

There a other ways as well. Using a finely tuned shovel, swat the hovering bastard and listen for the satisfying 'ding' sound emitting from the shovel as it makes contact with the bee's ass. Since they have little hair to soften the impact, carpenter bees will make the shovel 'ring' longer and have much better hang time than your standard bumblebee.

Pg 13 not as lucky as it has been, with Boots' catheter issues added to the tales of woe. dopekitty74, everything crossable crossed here in favour of a good solution for him.
But there are good finds by lilyspad. A broguey Fang Q for the kitten in the sporran, who could almost have been our late dearly loved Cheeky in her youth.  Never did see the Kings Own Scottish Borderers regiment dress uniform; don't recognise that tartan, but hope to be able to research.
Other good-lookin' pix found by her, she must have The Touch.
http://www.care2.com/greenliving/5-interesting-unusual-parks-slidesh ow .html   Found this in e-mail, #1 is weirdly but creatively named, #2 is tiniest park in  the world.
On another note (hoping against hope it's not  the too-familiar Bb signalling computer crash) the game's afoot again for Cincinnati to try to recover & preserve the historic Delta Queen steamboat, that's been a hotel in TN somewhere for years.  Our own rep Steve Chabot seems to be prime mover on this once more; if any of you could see fit to write, ring up or e-mail your Congressional reps to get them to sign on or co-sponsor it'd be highly appreciated.  Another try to get the Queen exempted from the Safety at Sea Act is part of this.  She's only ever been on rivers, not at sea.  Linkie to vid of the song Dan Landau, a local type, wrote & performed in 2008.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOfJp5b5jlQ4:35God Speed Delta QueenIt sounds quite folky & rather predictable, but ought not to make you Run Away Screaming.

& a cat or 4, to keep this on topic.

So,I have three seniors dominating my dining room table, building a roller coaster..They are currently eating dinner..I grilled burgers and turkey dogs. One student has a pork prohibition. The cat is confused, he thinks he should be eating too! As for myself, I've poured a large glass of wine...nothing like waiting until Sunday to build something worth 500 points..and it is due Monday! *runs screaming*
